New Delhi:  The central government has announced this year’s Hajj policy. The new announcement is 80 percent through the government and 20 percent through private Hajj groups. Last year it was 70:30 ratio. The VIP quota has been completely abolished in the Hajj quota of 1,75,025 people allotted by the Saudi government this year.

It will be distributed by drawing lots. The application fee of Rs 300 for Hajj has been removed and the application has been made completely free. The number of Hajj departure centers in the country has been increased to 25. Kerala has been allotted 3 departure centers at Kannur, Kozhikode and Kochi. The Union Ministry of Minorities announced the new Hajj policy after widespread criticism over the delay in this year’s Hajj policy.
