Train time changes in the state

Thiruvananthapuram: From Thursday to 31 (09.03.2023-31.03.2023) there will be train control from Kollam to Thrissur. Due to the construction work going on at various places, there will be restrictions on the train services.

12082 Thiruvananthapuram Central -Kannur Janshatabdi, 06018 Ernakulam Junction-Shornur Junction Memu, 06448 Ernakulam Junction-Guruvayur Express, and 12081 Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Central Janshatabdi Express were canceled on 27th.

06442 Kollam Junction-Eranakulam Junction MEMU 9, 13, 17, 19 canceled between Kayamkulam and Kollam. The train departs from Kayamkulam. 16306 Kannur- Ernakulam Junction Express will terminate at Thrissur on the 26th.

12623MGR Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Mail will reach Thrissur on the 26th. 12624 Thiruvananthapuram Central-MGR Chennai Central Mail will depart from Thrissur on the 26th. 16325 Nilambur Road-Kottayam Express will run from 12 to 31 to Ernakulam Town. Kochi Metro provides an e-Rupee facility

Kochi: Kochi Metro Rail Limited has become the first metro to accept the central bank digital currency issued by the RBI. Kochi Metro has prepared a system to pay parking charges in e-rupees. The service will initially be available at the parking lot adjacent to Thaikudam Metro Station. Later, the facility will be extended to other station parking lots as well.

Technology start-up Anantham Online has made this service available at Kochi Metro Parking in collaboration with IDFC First Bank. The public can make money transactions through digital wallets of banks providing e-rupee service. KMRL MD Loknath Behra will inaugurate this service tomorrow at 10.30 am at the Thaikudam Metro station parking lot. Representatives of RBI, IDFC First Bank, and Anantham Online will also attend the function.

Ban on solo trekking in Nepal

Kathmandu:  Nepal is the first country that comes to the mind of travelers who love adventure travel and mountain climbing. Now the news that disappoints tourists comes from Nepal. Trekking alone is no longer possible here. This has been clarified by the Nepal Tourism Board. The ban has been imposed since April 1.

This rule applies to foreign tourists. Nepal Tourism Board Spokesperson Maniraj Lamichane informed that this decision is being taken because of security reasons. He said that the decision to ban solo trekking was reached in such a situation. Maniraj added that guides are a must for adventure tourism.

The government has issued an order to retrench four District Collectors at the IAS level.NSK Umesh, who was a staff officer in the Chief Secretary’s office, is the new Ernakulam District Collector. Haritha V Kumar, who was Thrissur Collector, has been transferred to Alappuzha. VRK Teja, who was Alappuzha Collector, is in charge of Thrissur. Geeta A, who was Wayanad Collector, became Kozhikode Collector. Snehil Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Chief Officer in the Office of the Chief Secretary. Mohammad Y Safairullah, a special officer in the finance department, has also been given full charge of eHealth.

The SSLC exam will start tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: SSLC exam will start tomorrow. 4.19 lakh students are appearing for the exam this year. SSLC exam preparations are over. The exam will start at 9.30 am. A total of 2,960 examination centers have been set up. The exam will end on March 29. The evaluation will be completed in 70 camps from April 3 to 26. The exam result will be published in the second week of May.

Manik Saha was sworn in as the twelfth Chief Minister of Tripura. Manik Saha is a leader who left Congress and joined BJP in 2016. In 2020, he held the charge as the state president of BJP in Tripura.

Biplav left the function because of his dissatisfaction with the decision of Saha as the Chief Minister again. Indications are that Pratima Bhowmik may continue as MP. Police have temporarily banned paragliding in Varkala

Varkala: Varkala Police has temporarily banned paragliding in Varkala. The action was taken in the event of an accident while paragliding. At the same time, the police and fire force will check whether there was a security breach on the part of the private organization that conducted the paragliding.

A young woman from Coimbatore and her instructor got stuck while paragliding in Varkala Papanasam beach at around 3 pm today. After two hours, they were brought down safely through the efforts made by the police and fire force.

The instructor stated that the cause of the accident was the change in the direction of the wind. But there is an allegation that the paragliding organization did not take necessary measures for rescue operations at the time of the accident. Supreme Court said that PG from open universities without basic degree is not valid for employment

New Delhi:  The Supreme Court held that postgraduate certificate candidates obtained from Open University without studying the basic degree course are not valid for employment. Dismissing the petition, a bench comprising Justices Hrishikesh Roy and Sanjay Karol pointed out that this had been pointed out in another case earlier. The court had earlier clarified this in a similar case related to Annamalai University.

A candidate who applied for a job through Tamil Nadu PSC approached the court with the petition. Post graduation is the qualification to apply for the job. Although the petitioner had not pursued an undergraduate course, he had completed his post-graduation from the Open University. He approached the Supreme Court after the Madras High Court dismissed the candidate’s petition.

Blast in Dhaka, Bangladesh; 15 people died and over 100 were injured

Dhaka: At least 15 people died and more than 100 were injured in an explosion in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals. After getting the information, senior police officers reached the spot. Rescue operations are currently underway. Some of the injured are in critical condition in the hospital. The death toll is likely to rise.

The blast took place in a building in Dhaka’s busy market area. The cause of the accident is unclear. Local media reports that eleven firefighting units were on the scene following the explosion. The accident happened around 4:50 pm.

According to reports, a bus standing on the opposite side of the road was also damaged in the blast. The injured have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
