Police have temporarily banned paragliding in Varkala

Varkala: Varkala Police has temporarily banned paragliding in Varkala. The action was taken in the event of an accident while paragliding. At the same time, the police and fire force will check whether there was a security breach on the part of the private organization that conducted the paragliding.

A young woman from Coimbatore and her instructor got stuck while paragliding in Varkala Papanasam beach at around 3 pm today. After two hours, they were brought down safely through the efforts made by the police and fire force.

The instructor stated that the cause of the accident was the change in the direction of the wind. But there is an allegation that the paragliding organization did not take necessary measures for rescue operations at the time of the accident. It also needs to be clarified whether the organization has taken necessary safety precautions while paragliding. A team of police and fire force will check all these matters tomorrow.
