Agartala:  Manik Saha was sworn in as Chief Minister of Tripura. Along with Saha, 8 MLAs also took oaths into the cabinet. Former BJP Chief Minister Biplav Deb Verma did not attend the function. Meanwhile, Left allies boycotted the swearing-in ceremony.

Manik Saha was sworn in as the twelfth Chief Minister of Tripura. Manik Saha is a leader who left Congress and joined BJP in 2016. In 2020, he held the charge as the state president of BJP in Tripura.

Biplav left the function because of his dissatisfaction with the decision of Saha as the Chief Minister again. Indications are that Pratima Bhowmik may continue as MP. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda. Meanwhile, the Left allies boycotted the swearing-in ceremony.
