Every filmmaker claims their upcoming film to be ‘different’, and in most cases the movie won’t have anything novel or will be a copy of foreign film. But there is one director who won’t claim this, but wins most times. Sathyan Anthikkad started directing films in 1982, since than most of his hit films tell the story of local villagers. When ever he tried something new, people didn’t accept it. This is true even in the case of his last film ‘Kadha Thudarunnu’. Like his other films, the locations are village greenery. First half has good comedy, (not the type of Suraj) and it’s the suspense that drives the story to the climax.
Script
The beginning scenes in first half of Sneha Veedu are made to introduce many characters but they had little importance in film. The film mostly goes through the situations and characters we saw earlier in other films for eg. Innocent is like the character done by Mammookoya in Cheppu Kilukkana Changathy, situations of Minnaram and Rasathantram pop into our mind while watching the movie.
The reason given for suspense is so implausible and may prove disastrous for the movie.
Some dialogues about his past are made in to remind us of film ‘Varavelppu’ and gossips heard about Mohanlal’s life.
Performance
Mohanlal was in form with his natural comedy. Padmapriya grabbed some attention while her hair was overdone in introduction scene. Rahul Pillai has given matured performance. Biju Menon, Innocent, K.P.S.C Lalitha, Lena, Chembil Ashokan have all done their part well.
Sheela acts as Ammukutty Amma while Mohanlal is Ajayan who left his home to make money. He returned from gulf and settled in his village to be with his mother and to enjoy country life. When a teenager Karthik (Rahul Pillai) arrives to claim as son of Ajayan the equilibrium crumbles.
Music
Songs and BGM by Ilayaraja are soothing.
Technical aspect
The film moves fast. Venu’s camera and editing by Rajagopal are fine as usual.
Overall verdict – Sneha Veedu is an okay movie from Sathyan Anthikkad, Nothing new to expect.

പാവം മോഹന്ലാലിനെ എന്നാണോ ഒന്ന് കല്യാണം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്, വര്ഷത്തില് ഒരു പടത്തിലെന്കിലും ഒരു കുടുംബ നാഥന്റെ റോള് ചെയ്താല് കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു. 20 – 20 യില് ഒരുമാതിരി പെട്ട എല്ലാവരും കെട്ടിയപ്പോഴും പുള്ളിക്ക് കുടുംബ പ്രാരബ്ധവും കച്ചവടവും എക്കെ യായി അതിനു സമയം കിട്ടിയില്ല, സ്നേഹവീട് , അറബീം ഒട്ടകോം ലാലും തുടങ്ങിയവയില് ഗള്ഫിലായതു കൊണ്ട് കല്യാണം നടന്നില്ല, ചൈന ടൌണ്, ക്രിസ്ത്യന് ബ്രെധേര്സ്, ഇവിടം സ്വര്ഗമാണ്, രസതന്ത്രം, കല്യാണം വയ്കുന്നതിനു ഓരോ കാരണം, ഇതെക്കെ ദഹിക്കാന് ഫാന്സ് ഉള്ളിടത്തോളം കാലം ഈ കോപ്രായങ്ങള് കാണേണ്ടിവരും, മോഹന്ലാലിനെ ഇഷ്ടപെട്ടിരുന്ന ഒരു തലമുറ ഇന്നും നിലനില്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ള വിചാരം എങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ സംവിധായകര്ക്ക് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കില്,

its the first time i’m exprtessing my review about a film in a public forum.
i think those who posted the above comments must be a fan of superstar or might they have any agenda.
first of all my opinion about the movie is, satyan anthikad disappointed us.
there is nothing in the subject as attractive. Except few sentimental scenes which tackles family viewers.
songs are lower than average and the situations they placed were not apt. Feeling like inserted songs in unwanted scenes.
Please do watch this movie just to lose all your expectations about satyan anthikkad films.

One boy came to Mohan Lal,s house by claiming that he is Mohanlal’s son
Here only five minute need to prove the truth by logical and reasonable questions
Anybody will ask in this situation.
Q-1) Who given the photo to you ( The boy shows a Mohanlal Photo ) ?
The boy can not say it is by his mother he will say it is by Saithalika ( Mr Mamukoya )
And of course Mr Mohanlal knows Mr Saithali , even he don’t have contact now , the boy have contact or he know very well where is Mr Saithali, within 24 hours the matter will be clear
And this is the normal , ordinary , and logical way .
Here Mr Anthikad just dragging the story without logic,
But of course good location and situations are there that is all
lalettan superb ,remembering his old comedy films
a family entertainer after a lomg time ,with pleasant smell of village
