Who is a hero? Hero is the person who fights against all odds and win the cup. In this case Joshiy, who did the last couple of films with observable lack of interest, return to change the game and our opinion. Though it is becoming a trend that many industry heavyweights are going through the non Superstar route, it’s rare that this director changes his track.
The beginning and especially the pre interval session is above average while the second half is predictable and just ordinary. The film gives you no time to ponder since it unknots at a feverish pace, the characters and their tracks keep you on tenterhooks
Writing by Iqbal Kuttipuram has improved a lot, even though he still clings to film ‘4 the people’. Sevens can almost match the fire of Joshiy’s yesteryear hit ‘Naduvazhikal’.
Technical Aspect
The camera by Ajayan Vincent is tricky and catches the mood. Editing by Ranjan Abraham is top notch. (Not telling this just for the sake of it.). Music by Bijibal is cool.
Acting Department
Kunchacko Boban looks manly and acts brilliantly. Asif Ali, Vijeesh and every other actor in the team has performed well. Nadia Moithu is brilliant as a police officer. Her effervescent feminine qualities exude like anything, which even young actresses couldn’t match. Bhama and Reema only have eye candy roles. Maniyan Pillai Raju did a fine job.
Reception
The film gets genuine appreciations from audience at different junctures; though a lengthy dialogue about their past, care free life has brought its share of derogations.
The film has nothing much of football. The sport is used as a coating to the story about 8 guys who are partners in crime. People who expect a football movie will be disappointed for sure.
On the whole, Sevens lives up to the expectations and is one of the finest youth movie to come out of the Malayalam film industry. This Movie is another hit for Kunchacko, Asif Ali and it seems to win the Onam cup.

GOOD MOVIE.Outstanding performences by CHACHOCHAN,ASIF etc….Happy 2 see the change of Chackochan from his early ‘CHOCALATE HERO’ styles and is now selecting good movies.A good appreciation from my part for his comeback with good movies like traffic etc.

Its an fun movie for time pass, u getitng bored at home , sure this movie would b worthy. New trend of direction is attempted, i liked it but climax is not that intresting. My rating 3/5 !

CLIMAX: EXCELLENT WITH A TWIST
PERFORMANCE: CHACKKOCHAN ROCKS IN HIS NEW STYLE. HIS DIALOGUES MAKES GREAT APPLAUSE IN THE HALL. ASIF ALI ONCE AGAIN PROVES THAT HE IS AN EXCELLENT ACTOR. ALL THE SEVENS TEAM PERFORMED WELL.
