“Runway” starring the super star Dileep and Kavya Madhavan was a run away hit. According to sources, the sequel to the flick is being planned which is expected to kick off in January 2010. The sequel is being titled ” Valayar Parashivam “. This was the name of the lead character in “Runway” which was played by Dileep. This humorous action thriller will be directed by Joshy and more details would be released soon.

According to latest sources Mammootty starrer “Pazhassi Raja” will make an international release on 2nd of October and will be released in 500 centers across the globe. The Malayalam version will be released in 125 centers across the state and the same numbers are expected in Tamil and Telugu. The movie which has been made in five languages also stars Tamil actor Sarath Kumar and Telugu actor Suman in important roles.

“Pazhassi Raja” is the multilingual flick which has been making headlines for some time. This flick stars superstar Mammootty in the lead with Tamil actor Sarathkumar also playing an important role. The website of this flick was launched recently in Chennai. It was a grand affair with many including Mammootty,Sarath Kumar and producer Gogulam Gopalan being present at the launch. The movie which was supposed to be released during Ramzan seems to have been postponed to October 2.

Mohanlal-Suresh Gopi film has named `Janakan’. The shoot is progressing at Vandannoor at Neyattinkara near Thiruvananthapuram. The investigative character film is directed by debutant N.R. Sanjeev. S.N. Swamy has written the screen play. The story develops in a village, where three friends Viswan, Monayi from Trichur and Pazhani live together. Viswan’s family includes wife Nirmala and daughter Anu. Anu was an air hostess trainee in the city. One day somebody got murdered near their place and these three friends were suspected. The police came to arrest them but somehow they managed to escape and reached the house of a leading Advocate Soorya Narayanan. Suresh Gopi dons the role of Viswan and Kaveri as his wife. Debutant Priya play the role of their daughter. Mohan Lal is Soorya Narayanan. Biju Menon as Monayi and Harisree Asokan as Pazhani. They were supported by Jyothirmayi, VijayaRaghavan, Vijaya Kumar, Ganesh Kumar, Sambath, Ranjith Menon, Sivaji, Sivani, Parvathy and others. Arun is producing the film under the banner of Line of Colours.

The sensuous beauty Kavya Madhavan is all set to make her comeback with the horror flick “Maadankolli”. According to sources, she will be essaying the role of an IPS officer which will have both positive and negative shades. This role will be a challenging one for Kavya. Sources indicate that the movie directed by Major Ravi will be a visual feast with great special effects. According to reports, Kavya will decide on her acting career by the end of September.

Prithviraj has appeared in a number of Malayalam films. He has proved to be a mass hero after the success of Puthiya Mugham,he will now been seen as Mammootty’s brother in Pokkiri Raja. Apparently, he replaced Narain as Mammootty’s brother.aisakh Abraham, who was the associate  of Joshi, is  directing the film. It is a family entertainer. Screen play has been written by Sibi-Udaya Krishana team. P.Sukumar is handling the camera. Mulakupadam pictures is producing the film.

Nayantara is in no mood of becoming Abhishek Bachchan’s sister. Well Abhishek is not longing for a sister but just that the southern diva has turned down an offer to star with him. Mani Ratnam had approached Nayantara to play Shoorpankha’s character in his magnum opus Raavan but she turned it down since the character did not interest her.

There are rumours that the scripting team missed out the important character of Shoorpankha while making the first draft. It’s only now when a chunk of the movie has been shot have the realised the missing character of Raavan’s sister Shoorpankha.

Mani has now approached National Award winning actress Priyamani to play the role and she has given her nod.

Raavan is a modern day adaptation of the epic Ramayana. Tamil superstar Vikram will be playing Ram with Aishwarya Bachchan playing the role of Sita. Abhishek Bachchan will play the evil character of Raavan who kidnaps Sita.

The movie which is also simultaneously being made in Tamil is expected to hit the theatres in January 2010.

A preview show of “Kaanakanmani” was held recently in Chennai. The movie stars Jayaram, Padmapriya, Biju Menon among others. The show was held for Jayaram’s family and some press people. According to sources, Jayaram came with his wife Parvathy who is a former actress and their two children. Sources indicate that all eyes were on Parvathy who seems to have lost lot of weight after a crash diet.
