Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Kerala due to the likelihood of heavy rainfall today. The alert is in place for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall, which means 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain in 24 hours.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along the Kerala coast today (30/08/2025) and along the Karnataka–Lakshadweep coasts from 30/08/2025 to 01/09/2025.
- 30/08/2025 (Kerala coast): Strong winds of 40–50 km/h, gusting up to 60 km/h, and rough weather are expected.
- 30/08/2025 to 01/09/2025 (Karnataka–Lakshadweep coasts): Strong winds of 40–50 km/h, occasionally reaching 60 km/h, and rough conditions are likely.
