New Delhi: Government to provide covid vaccine to 12- to 17-year-olds from next month. The ZyCoV-D vaccine will be given. The first vaccine will be given to people with serious illnesses at this age. Priority is given to people with heart disease, obesity, and immunodeficiency. The ZyCoV-D vaccine is the only vaccine in the country that has been approved for emergency use in children.
ZyCoV- D is the world’s first DNA-based vaccine. The government plans to start vaccinating teenagers in late October or early November.
Adolescents with serious health problems will be vaccinated this year. In the first round of adolescent vaccination, 20–30 million children with serious health problems will be vaccinated. In the first round, it is estimated that 40 lakh doses of the vaccine will arrive. The government estimates that 4-5 million doses of the vaccine will be available by December.
