Border dispute; India did not accept China’s proposals

Border dispute

New Delhi: The last round of talks between Indian and Chinese commanders on the Ladakh conflict has failed. The Indian Army has said that the proposals put forward by China will not work and that the Chinese side cannot be accepted. Despite constructive proposals from the Indian Army to resolve the issues, China refused to accept them. China has also said it will not accept India’s offer. The Indian Army said in a statement that the talks had ended without a decision. During the talks, the two countries agreed to maintain communication.

The statement added that China hopes to take into account the overall outlook on bilateral relations, fully comply with bilateral agreements and conventions and work to resolve any remaining issues sooner rather than later. The Chinese military said that India was making irrational and unrealistic demands, which made the talks difficult, and that the talks had failed. The talks between India and China lasted for about eight and a half hours. During the talks, India had earlier called for the deployment of Chinese troops in the remaining conflict areas in eastern Ladakh. The talks started at 10:30 am and ended at 7 pm.
