Actress attack case; Dileep charged with guilty

Kochi: Ten accused, including actor Dileep, have been charged with guilty in the attack on the actress. The trial in the case will start on the 28th. The decision was taken after considering the opinion of lawyers. A final decision in this regard will be made on Tuesday. After hearing the charge sheet, the accused decided to start the trial once they had denied the charge.

The accused including Dileep appeared in court today. Last week, the court expressed dissatisfaction over the continuous non-attendance of the accused in the case.

The witness whistleblower is scheduled for the first phase of the trial. The court has asked the prosecution to provide a list of witnesses. The court will meet again tomorrow and will set the date for the witnesses to appear.

The court had earlier dismissed Dileep’s plea. Dileep is likely to submit the petition in the High Court this week.

Baghdad: Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, is once again on the brink of rising concern in West Asia. The rocket attack took place near the US embassy in Baghdad on Saturday. The Iraqi army said no casualties were reported.

Tehran: The Iranian Revolutionary Guards chief who was killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad has been replaced. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Revolutionary Guards Department, Esmail Qaani.

Following the martyrdom of General Qasim Suleiman, Brigadier General Ismail Khani has been appointed as the new head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, KhamnaE said. The announcement was made through the official website. Ismail Khani was one of the commanders who led the Iran-Iraq war in 1980-88.

Besides, the deputy commander of the Mobilization Force, Abu Mahdi Mohandis and Muhammad Rada were killed in the US attack, along with the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The United States rocketed early Friday morning to target the military. Seven people have been killed in the attack.
