New Delhi: The Supreme Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by Rahna Fathima in the nude drawing case. The petition was considered by Justice Arun Mishra.

Arun Mishra said that it was clear that pornography was being spread. What is the perception of children about the culture of the country, the court expressed concern in the case. Rahna Fatima may be an activist, but why did she do this, the court also asks. The High Court had earlier rejected Rahna’s earlier plea. It was after this that they approached the Supreme Court.

Kottayam: Bishop Franco Mulakkal has been granted bail in the case of molesting a nun. The court granted bail on the basis that Franco should not leave Kerala till the 13th day after hearing the charge sheet. The bishop must appear in court for all further hearings. The Supreme Court had yesterday rejected a petition filed by Franco seeking to be dropped from the case.

Franco Mulakkal approached the Supreme Court, alleging that the testimony against him was contradictory and that the evidence was fabricated. In the petition, Franco Mulakkal had stated that the evidence did not exist. However, the Supreme Court ruled that Franco Mulakkal could not be excluded from the list of defendants.

Chief Justice SA Bobde had asked Franco Mulakkal’s lawyer, who was trying to oppose the court’s decision, whether it was an attempt to exert spiritual power over the court. Earlier, the Kerala High Court had rejected the demand for Franco Mulakkal. The High Court ordered that the case be tried.

Thiruvananthapuram: The NIA is taking evidence in Thiruvananthapuram with the accused in the gold smuggling case. Evidence is being taken at the five-star Hotel in Thambanur with two accused, including Jalal, a native of Muvattupuzha. The report said the evidence was used to further validate the allegations that the accused were involved in the gold exchange and conspiracy. Earlier, it was alleged that Jalal was involved in money laundering.

Meanwhile, the NIA told the court that the dream had an impact on the CM’s office. One of the main accused in the case, Swapna, had objected to the bail plea. The NIA found that Shivashankar was a dream come true and that it was Shivshankar who offered him a job at Space Park. Dreams have an impact abroad as well. But so far no evidence has been found to link the accused to terrorism. Dream’s lawyer says NIA could not find him. The lawyer said that Swapna only said that he knew the Chief Minister. Earlier, the NIA had sought clarification on the circumstances under which UAPA could be imposed on the accused and to produce the case diary. The court had asked the NIA. However, it is learned that only a partial case diary was produced by the NIA.

Kozhikode: Heavy rains continue in Kerala. Four people, including two children, died in Wayanad and Malappuram. Landslides are threatened in many parts of the hilly region. The water level in the rivers is rising. The caution has been issued to those living near the rivers.

The Chembukadavu bridge on Kozhikode Thusharagiri Adivaram road was completely submerged in the mountain water patch. Traffic on the bridge was suspended. The temporary suspension bridge at Mundari has washed away. The temporary bridge, built by the Revenue Department after the bridge was washed away in the last flood, was washed away. Two units of the National Disaster Management Force will arrive in Kerala today in case the rains continue. Four NDRF units arrived in the state yesterday. Meppadi Chooralmala, which was hit by landslides last year, received heavy rainfall yesterday. The Meppadi Puthumala region received 390 mm of rainfall last day. The catchment area of the western Banasura Sagar Dam received 178 mm of rainfall. The Central Water Commission (CWC) has issued flood warnings to 10 states, including Kerala.

Thiruvananthapuram: The main accused in the treasury fraud case has been arrested. Bijulal was arrested from the lawyer’s office in Thiruvananthapuram for embezzling Rs 2 crore from the Vanchiyoor sub – treasury. The day before, the police had raided Bijulal’s house in Balaramapuram, his rented house in Karamana and his relatives’ houses. Bijulal had filed an anticipatory bail application in the Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Court. He is now being crucified for suspicion and misunderstanding. Bijulal has pleaded not guilty in the case.

On May 31, Rs 2 crore was swindled using the password of a retired treasury employee. Of this, Rs 61 lakh was transferred from two treasury accounts to five bank accounts of family members, according to the police case. A departmental inquiry is underway against the accused Bijulal.

Thrissur: Four people, including Jasmine Sha, the main accused in the UNA (United Nurses Association) financial fraud case, have been arrested. Shobi Joseph, Nitin Mohan, and Jeethu were arrested by the crime branch team from Thrissur. The High Court had earlier rejected the anticipatory bail petition filed by Jasmine Shah in the case. This was followed by an arrest.

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs had issued lookout notices against the four accused and issued circulars at airports across the country.

The crime branch is investigating eight people in connection with UN fraud. Jasmine Shah’s wife Shabna is also a defendant in the case. This is because it was found that around Rs 55 lakh was transferred to Shabna’s account. The three state leaders who prepared the fake document were also included in the list of defendants. It was also learned that the four accused, including Jasmine Shah, had left Nedumbassery for Qatar on July 19.

The crime branch had registered a case against seven persons, including Jasmine Shah, on charges of embezzling Rs 3 crore from the organization’s funds. The plaintiff in the case is one of the former office bearers of the United Nurses Association.

Kochi: Six more months have been allotted to complete the trial in the case of attacking the actress. The apex court’s decision was based on a letter from the Special Court Judge Honey M Varghese asking for more time. A bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilker considered the matter.

On November 29, the apex court had directed that the trial in the case be completed within six months. Accordingly, the trial was to be completed on May 29.

However, trial court judge Honey M Varghese informed the High Court that the trial could not be completed on time due to the COVID situation and lockdown. The judge’s letter was forwarded by the High Court Registrar to the Supreme Court.
