Thiruvananthapuram: It has been found that Bijulal, the accused in the treasury fraud case in Vanchiyoor had diverted more money to his account. The fraudulent money was first transferred to treasury accounts. It was then transferred to his account. No fraud was detected at the time as the money was first transferred to the treasury account. Bijulal was taken to Vanchiyoor sub-treasury and district treasury today and evidence was taken.
It is alleged that Bijulal embezzled Rs 2 crore 73 lakh from the Vanchiyoor sub-treasury. The role of Bijulal’s wife, the second accused in the case, will also be further investigated. Questioning and taking of evidence are done with the help of technical experts. Bijulal stole the password of a former treasury officer. Bhaskaran, a former treasury officer, had also said that he had given the password to Bijulal when he went home a day earlier.
Thiruvananthapuram: Poet and lyricist Chunakkara Ramankutty (84) passed away here on Thursday. He died at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. He has composed many hit songs such as ‘Shyamameghame Nee’ from ‘Adhipan’ and ‘Hridaya Vaniyile Gayakayayo’ from Kottayam Kunjachan.
He was born on January 19, 1936, at Chunakkara Kariyattil house in Mavelikkara. He graduated in Malayalam from NSS College, Pandalam. He has written over 200 songs for over 75 films.
He entered the film industry in 1978 with the song Apsarakanyaka from the film Ashram. He has also written plays for All India Radio.
Thiruvananthapuram: The free Onam kits distribution in the state has been started from today. As the first phase the free stationery kits distributed in some places in Pathanamthitta.
The Pathanamthitta district Supply Officer has announced it in a statement. The free kits for AAY (Yellow card owners) will be issued from 13, 14, 15 dates.
Following it the kits will be distributed for priority, subside, non subside section cardholders.Consumers can buy the kits from the shops the same shops in which the July month’s ration received. In August, white and white cardholders get 10 kg of rice at Rs. 15. The District Supply Officer also informed the police about the incident.
New Delhi: The Center has moved to make the entire education sector in the country online. In the first phase, the Central Government has directed the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to make the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) online classes only. According to the national media, the move is aimed at eliminating sitting in classes altogether. The government hopes that this will help reduce the burden on educational institutions.
The Prime Minister’s Office and the Finance Commission have asked the UGC and AICTE to submit proposals in this regard. AICTE President Anil Sahasrabhdhe and UGC Vice President Dr. MP Punia have been tasked to prepare a preliminary draft.
The responsibility of these two experts is to build a digital base and provide the necessary infrastructure to provide quality education to Indian students online.
The AICTE Vice President has also written to various institutes requesting them to submit necessary suggestions for achieving these achievements in the field of education as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The letter also explores the infrastructure and basic responsibilities required to transform learning and research institutions into digital ones.
It is believed that the center aims to introduce online education using a situation where classes cannot be started after COVID.
New Delhi: India has deployed two light combat helicopters (LCH – Light Compact Helicopter) built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Ladakh on the border with China. The HLL said the deployment was in support of the Air Force in, where China tensions persist.
“It is the world’s lightest attack helicopter designed and developed by HAL to cater to the specific and special needs of the Indian Armed Forces, reflecting the crucial role of HAL in Atma Nirbhar India” said HAL Chairman R. Madhavan.
HAL expects to receive orders from the central government for 15 light compact helicopters by the end of 2020. Ten helicopters will be built for the Air Force and five for the Army. It is estimated that 160 LCHs are needed for the Air Force and Army.
Thiruvananthapuram: The NIA team again to the Secretariat in connection with the investigation into the gold smuggling case through the diplomatic channel. The team came to record the statement of the state protocol officer.
The aim was to find out how many times the diplomatic bags came with the knowledge of the state government. Following this, the NIA team interacted with customs officials.

Firstly, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is honestly a brilliant execution of a perfect Biographical Drama. The inspiring and brave life of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena was beautifully made by the markers without any form of backwardness. The prior credits should be given to the director, writers and actors because they had made the movie a complete worth watch.
A movie is clearly under the duration of 2 Hours and under this length, the makers had implemented the whole movie with the right pack of components and also the fractions in managing the whole premise of the film was precise and perfect according to the story. The inspiring story of Gunjan Saxena is the real backbone behind the wining success and eventually, the writers had written out in an adequate way which makes to give a fairest cinematic experience.
The interesting thing I liked in the story is the arrangement of various circumstances and situations because under a time of 1 Hour and 48 minutes the writers had cleverly packed the various components of the screenplay. The factors such as hazards and barriers of the central character in achieving her dream, family sentiments, struggling, desperateness, premise, sexism and anxiety of war, etc have been written neatly which gives the right impact that will definitely make every viewer catch on within the film. So it’s clearly evident that the brilliant writing of story and screenplay had helped the director Sharan Sharma to give his best directional effort.
The making held by the director was outstanding, he had made a complete justice in the portraying the extraordinary life of Gunjan Saxena. The clear picture of intensity and passionate making was visible in his direction and also as a newcomer the making was unbelievable, flawlessly did the job. There are two angles in the film, one is a beautiful relationship between a father-daughter and second the journey of a determined girl to achieve her dream so both these angles in the making held by the director were realistic and heart-filling. The effective use of character according to the story was undertaken authentically and various emotion underlying in the above-mentioned angles appropriately gazed in his whole direction. The director had also shown the faces of sexism and gender differentiation and those vibrant facts were honestly shocking, the director firmly deserves a thumbs up for showing the sexism faced by Gunjan Saxena.
So the sharp and gripping direction along with the adequate screenplay doesn’t make the movie to lose any of its grasps, similarly, the dialogues are also strong like the movie. The dialogues written by Nikhil Mehrotra and Sharan Sharma is exceptional especially when it comes to the conversation between the father and daughter. The dominant conversations between the father-daughter will certainly bring tears to the eyes, those who contrive with their bond will feel the real depth and love. There was no overdose use of patriotic words and was never added also the dialogues in the desperate situations were genuinely matching to set the scene, not a single dialogue was felt overdramatic or cliched.
Janhvi Kapoor who did the central character Gunjan Saxena did a good job but not certainly the best. She had improved a lot, needs an upgrade in giving out strong expressions. At some part in delivering the dialogue especially at the emotional scene were average, so looking into her whole performance she did a notable job. Pankaj Tripathi as the father Anup Saxena delivered a remarkable performance, no words to say about his acting. His natural way of undertaking the character was purely authentic. The qualities of a loving and supporting father were safer in his hands and completely gives his best. The dialogue delivery on crucial scenes and at emotional scenes was striking in all means, his yet another best performance. Angad Bedi as the brother of Gunjan Saxena and Ayesha Raza Mishra as Gunjan’s mother did a notable performance. Vineeth Kumar Singh as Fight commander officer Dileep Singh and Manav Vij as Commanding officer Gautam Sinha did complete justice to their respective supporting roles.
The musical work held by Amit Trivedi was mediocre, a couple of songs were good others felt normal. “Bharat Ki Beti” sung by Arjith Sing was the best, the song ’Asmaan Di Pari’ was good to hear with different vocals of Jyothi. The song ’Duri Tutt Gaiyaan’ sung by Rekha Bhardwaj had the responsibility of making the premise of desperation but the impact was not that great, the vocals of Rekha had little bit helped to move on with the situations. There are three more songs but it’s not that accurate and not that much hitting hard to mention in this brief. The background score tuned by John Stewart Eduri was disappointing, for many important scenes especially at the climax to give more feel and impact the right amount of powerful background score was missing. The cinematography of Manush Nandan was excellent, the visuals of war scenes are the first highlight. The way he handled and undertaken the different camera movements in the upshots to catch the helicopter scenes were fantastic also the lighting techniques in indoor scenes were fine. The editing held by Nitin Baid was crisp and clear with the perfect cuts and haven’t given any mismatches in the viewing experience.
So overall to conclude the inspiring life of Gunjan Saxena was a treat to watch and the film had given a pleasing satisfying experience, the brilliant implementation in writing and direction makes the movie shine and glow to a true wining take-off, won’t disappoint anyone.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Center and the state government have announced financial assistance to the families of those killed and injured in the Karipur plane crash. The Center has announced Rs 10 lakh for the families of the dead, Rs 2 lakh for the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 for the slightly injured. Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri told the media after visiting the site of the Kozhikode plane crash. Air India will assist. The minister said the local people, the local government, and the airport authorities had worked together to reduce the scale of the accident.
The minister also confirmed the receipt of the black boxes of the aircraft. The probe was ordered on Friday after the tragedy. The first group left Delhi at 2 am on Saturday. The second group also arrived. The minister said they had already started their work. The Civil Aviation Minister said that the captain of the aircraft, DV Sathe, was a man of prowess and had an excellent operational experience.
Captain DV Sathe was the recipient of the President’s Award for Outstanding Pilot during his service in the Air Force. Sathe, 59, joined Air India Express in 2013. He was an experienced pilot who flew 10,848 hours (Flying Experience). He added that co-pilot Akhilesh Kumar was an experienced pilot who flew 1,723 hours. Akhilesh Kumar’s wife is pregnant. Akhilesh joined Air India in 2017. The brother also said that Akhilesh last reached home before the lockdown.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also said that the accident at Karipur airport was very unfortunate. The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of those killed in the accident. The CM said that the government will bear the entire medical expenses of the injured. Arriving at Karipur, the Chief Minister and his delegation visited Kozhikode Medical College and met doctors and others.
Showed remarkable excellence in rescue operations, CM said that locals and government agencies stood together. The Prime Minister and the President have expressed the pain. The CM said that the Prime Minister had called on the phone after learning about the accident. Alappuzha: The wife and son of the film representative Chacko, who was killed against the movie ‘Kurup’ starring Dulquer Salman, with the propaganda of the story of the infamous captive Sukumara Kurup.
Dulquer is the producer of the film. Shantamma (62) and her son Jith (36) at Alappuzha Karalakam, sent a notice to Dulquer Salman’s lawyer asking them to prove that there is nothing in the film that glorifies Sukumara Kurup or defames the slain Chacko, before the release of the film.
Shantamma said in a press conference that no one had approached her or her family for permission to produce the film. In the teaser released last day, the notice sent by Advocate TT Sudheesh alleged that the film was based on a real incident and contained a description justifying Sukumara Kurup’s misdeeds. The lawyer said in the notice that the narration was in the voice of Dulquer Salman.
Chacko’s assassination was a shocking murder that shook Kerala in the 1980s. Sukumara Kurup and his gang abducted Chacko, a film representative, from a car to extort money from him and set him on fire. Chacko was brutally murdered to buy insurance in his name.
As the character, Sukumara Kurup says in the trailer of the movie, when Sukumara Kurup hides among us in this world and challenges everyone by saying ‘Now I have to think to catch me’, Dulquer tells Jeet and Shantamma said not to make Sukumara Kurup a hero.
