Interstate AC service; KSRTC with 30% discount

Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC offers a 30% discount on ticket prices for inter-state AC services. KSRTC aims to increase revenue by discounting ticket prices. The concession is aimed at attracting more passengers on AC Scania and Volvo multi-axle services, which operate within and outside the state.

Currently, there are concessions on two routes. On the Thiruvananthapuram-Salem-Bangalore route, the fare will be Rs 1,322 as against Rs 1,922 and for the Thiruvananthapuram-Bathery-Bangalore route, the fare will be Rs 1,417 instead of Rs 2019. The fares have been announced till November 2.

Thiruvananthapuram: WhatsApp messages between former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister M Sivasankar and Chartered Accountant P Venugopal is out. Both of them share concerns about the bank locker in WhatsApp messages 10 days after Swapna Suresh’s arrest. Shivshankar has advised Venugopal to leave Kerala to escape the media. Swapna Suresh was arrested on July 11 from Bangalore. Ten days later, Shivashankar had a conversation with Venugopal.

Shivshankar had told the Enforcement Directorate and Customs that he had not asked Venugopal to open the bank locker. Channels have now released information that proves this to be wrong. Venugopal tells Sivashankar that Customs has asked him about his joint locker with Swapna Suresh. Venugopal told Sivashankar that when the media came to the front of the house, he was locked inside. Thiruvananthapuram: For the first time in history, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has ordered the appointment of women as home guards in the fire and rescue service. Besides, 30% reservation for women was guaranteed for women.

Home guards deployed by the fire department and police are currently being deployed in disaster areas. The government has already implemented several schemes for the empowerment of women. The CM said that as part of that policy, it was decided to appoint women as home guards and introduce reservation.

Covid cure in the country has reached 90 percent and mortality has come down

New Delhi: Covid has confirmed 50,129 more people in India in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of cases in the country to 78,64,811. In a single day, another 578 people died from the disease. The total death toll was 1,18,534. According to the Ministry of Health, 6,68,154 people are currently in treatment. So far 70,78,123 people have been cured.

The cure rate in the country is 90%. In the last 24 hours, 62,077 people were cured. The Union Ministry of Health said that there have been less than 1,000 consecutive deaths in the country in the last week. Maharashtra has the highest number of reported cases so far.The total number of cases in Maharashtra was 16,38,961. Andhra Pradesh reported 8,04,026 cases and Karnataka 7,98,378 cases. In Tamil Nadu, 7,06,136 people are affected. A total of 4,68,238 cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh and 3,86,087 in Kerala.

Suicide bomber kills 24, injures several

Kabul: At least 24 people, including students, have been killed in a suicide bomb attack. The bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of a school in the Afghan capital, Kabul, killing at least 24 people, the news agency reported. Home Ministry spokesman Tarekh Aryan said the bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of a school building, killing students and injuring dozens more. Afghan government and NATO condemn the attack.

Kozhikode: Notice of Kozhikode Corporation to demolish the house of KM Shaji MLA. The demolition notice was issued on the grounds that, the KM Shaji MLA has been violated the building code. Corporation officials had measured Shaji’s house the previous day. It was found that the area of the house was more than the allotted amount. Following this, it was ordered to be demolished.

Shaji had sought permission from the corporation for 3200 square feet. However, the survey revealed that the house has an area of more than 5500 square feet. Although the plan was completed in 2016, the house did not receive a number because it did not respond to a notice issued by the corporation to regulate construction without permission. Corporation officials said the additional construction was on the third floor.

A team led by Executive Engineer Ramesh Kumar measured the house near Malurkunnu after the Enforcement Directorate asked for a report on the value of Shaji’s house. Enforcement was asked to report, including the appraisal value of the home, the acreage, and the completed plan, as part of an investigation into whether the property was acquired illegally.Kannur Block Panchayat President Padmanabhan had complained to Vigilance that KM Shaji had received Rs 25 lakh for allotting Plus Two to a school in Azhikode constituency. Following this, the Enforcement Directorate also started an investigation to find the source of the funds.

Nayanthara’s action thriller, ‘Netrikann’ first look poster is out

The first look of the movie ‘Netrikann’ starring Lady Superstar Nayanthara is out. The film is produced by director Vignesh. Nayanthara can be seen in the poster with a weapon in her hand.

Netrikann is Nayanthara’s 65th film directed by Milind Rao. Actor Ajmal Aamir is also to be starring in the film. There are indications that Nayanthara will play the role of a blind in the film.

The previously released title poster showed the alphabet for the blind to read. Meanwhile, there have been reports that Netrikann is a remake of the Korean film Blind. Blind tells the story of a talented police officer who loses his sight in an accident.

New Delhi: Dr. Reddy’s Lab, which is testing the Covid vaccine, has closed its plants and offices around the world in the wake of the cyber attack. The incident comes after the Drug Controller of India approved the second and third phase trials of Russia’s Covid Vaccine.

The company said it had cut off data center services from the network following a cyber attack. This is part of taking preventive measures. CEO Mukesh Rathi said he expects all operations to resume within 24 hours.

It was around 2.30 am on Thursday, the cyber-attack took place at Reddy’s Lab’s plants in India, Russia, the UK, the US, and Brazil. Shares of the company also fell after the news broke.

Govt prepares to make COVID vaccine free; Rs 5,000 crore set aside

New Delhi: The Center is all set to make the corona vaccine available free of cost. It is recommended to set the price at a cost of not more than Rs 150 per person. Accordingly, it is estimated that Rs 5,000 crore will be allocated in the first phase considering the current health situation.

The average cost of a vaccine is around Rs 500 to Rs 600 per person. The government has been recommended to reduce the price by one-third. Economists say the decision has not been made. Meanwhile, various states have announced that the corona vaccine will be provided free of cost.

A person may need to be vaccinated twice. Also, the vaccine can only be stored in a good refrigeration system. The recommendation says that special pharmacy systems should be set up in the districts for this purpose.
