Gitanjali won the Kid of the Year award for his discovery of various solutions using technology ranging from wastewater to cyberbullying. Gitanjali lives in Colorado, USA.
Beijing: At least 18 people killed in a gas leak in a Chinese mine. The incident happened in China’s southwestern city of Chongqing.
According to reports, 24 people were trapped in the mine.
Carbon monoxide gas at the Diaoshuidong coal mine leaked, reports added. The mishap was occurred at about 5 p.m. This is the region’s second such accident in just over two months.
At least 16 deaths were reported in late September after high levels of carbon monoxide trapped miners at the Songzao coal mine in Chongqing.
Thiruvananthapuram: Cyclone Burevi, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to make landfall in southern Kerala this afternoon. Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India has announced a revised monetary policy. No change in interest rates. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said the monetary policy committee had unanimously decided to keep the repo rate at 4%. The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) rate and bank rate will remain at 4.25%. Bangalore: Karnataka is all set to implement the ban on cow slaughter. Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu Chavan said after the cabinet meeting that the bill would be introduced in the coming assembly session.
