Thiruvananthapuram: An order has been issued to provide free vaccines to people between the ages of 18 and 45. In the third phase of the central government’s national vaccination policy, it was decided to vaccinate people between the ages of 18 and 45 from May 1, but it was not free. The order issued by Principal Secretary Rajan N Khobragade said that two doses of the vaccine would be given free of cost to those in this category, subject to the decision of the Supreme Court and the High Court in this regard.
Kochi: The Kerala High Court has directed that strict restrictions be imposed in the state to prevent the spread of Covid in Kerala. The High Court has directed that no rallies be held in the state from May 1 to 4 in connection with the counting of votes in the Assembly elections and that strict action be taken against those who violate the Covid guidelines in the present circumstances.

The court also directed that a case be registered against those who assemble illegally under the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act.
Thiruvananthapuram: Covid spread is rampant in the state. Nearly 40,000 cases of the disease have been confirmed in the state today. So the government is preparing to tighten controls as part of a crackdown. The CM said that strict control will be imposed in the next one week and from the fourth day till Sunday. He said there would be exact criteria related to the regulation and details would be given later.
The CM said that film serial shootings should be stopped and other programs which could not meet the social distance should be avoided. A meeting of oxygen producers was held today under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. A committee headed by the Home Secretary was formed to ensure availability.
New Delhi: Covid vaccine rate has also been slashed. The price of the vaccine given to the state governments has come down. The dose was reduced to Rs 400, Bharat told Biotech. Covaxin is developed by leading pharmaceutical companies Bharat Biotech and ICMR.
Earlier, the Serum Institute had to pay Rs 400 to the state governments. The price of the prescribed vaccine was reduced to Rs.300. Bharat Biotech was decided to distribute Covaxin at Rs 600 for the state government. The company now reduced 200 Rs from this amount, reports said.
New Delhi: The AYUSH Ministry has said that AYUSH 64 is effective in combating Covid. AYUSH 64 is effective in clinical trials conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Biotechnology, CSIR, and Delhi AIIMS. The study looked at the efficacy of Chittamrit, Amukkuram, Irattimadhuram, and Thippali, as well as AYUSH-64, a combination of Ezhilampalatholi, Kadukurohini, Kiriyath, and Kalanchikuru nuts. Medications are for prevention, treatment, and postcovid therapy.
Palakkad: The service will be suspended from May 1 as most of the private buses in the state are unmanned due to the spread of Covid, said T Gopinathan, general secretary, Kerala Bus Operators Organization.
He said most of the panchayats, municipalities, and corporations in the state have been made containment zones due to the spread of Covid and private buses are not being used.
He said he had applied to the government for tax exemption in the April, May, and June quarters but the buses had to be stopped as there was no decision from the government.
At least a few buses will be able to operate only if the government decides to waive the existing quarter tax in the same way as it did in January, February and March. The current tax payment deadline is May 15. T Gopinathan said that this was not a strike decision and that there was no impediment to the service of buses that could be operated profitably and no one would be forcibly stopped.
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to provide Aadhaar to newborns as well. With the increasing importance of the 12-digit Aadhaar number, which has become an important document for proving identity and address, it has been decided to extend this facility to children as soon as they are born. Aadhaar will be issued to newborns without the inclusion of biometrics.
The cover photo of the parents will be collected for biometric information. When a child is five years old, a biometric of ten fingers can be recorded. You can apply for this online or offline. If you are offline, you need to go to the Aadhaar Enrollment Center and apply. Relevant documents should also be submitted.
Lucknow: A complete lockdown has been declared in UP as the spread of Covid continues to be extreme. The lockdown is tomorrow from 8 pm to 7 am on May 4th. Currently, the state has announced a weekend lockdown from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday.
With the number of patients per day crossing 29,824, the restrictions are likely to be further tightened. The total number of patients has crossed 11,82,848. Kaliyug a series of acrylic paintings by the talented siblings – Rishikesh Kalyan and Manasa Kalyan, displayed at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, Thrissur visualises the destruction that is unleashed upon the environment by successive generations, culminating in a pandemic that reminds us of the mythical Kaliyug itself.
The exhibition was virtually inaugurated by Shri. VS Sunilkumar, Minister of Agriculture, Govt of Kerala. Shri. TS Kalyanaraman, Chairman & Managing Director, Kalyan Jewellers, who is also the children’s very proud grandfather was present at the exhibition.
Trained for the past eight years, under artist Shine Karunakaran, this is the first public display of Rishikesh and Manasa Kalyan’s art work. Artist Shine Karunakaran pointed out that the children were both gifted artists, and as their teacher he simply has to guide them on the technicalities of the various art mediums, and aid them in their quest to find their very own style of painting.
The art work, majority of which was produced during the past year, is reflective of the state of the environment around us today. The exhibition of Kaliyug, will be on display until April 29th at Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, Thrissur.
