Rishikesh Kalyan and Manasa Kalyan

Kaliyug a series of acrylic paintings by the talented siblings – Rishikesh Kalyan and Manasa Kalyan, displayed at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, Thrissur visualises the destruction that is unleashed upon the environment by successive generations, culminating in a pandemic that reminds us of the mythical Kaliyug itself.

The exhibition was virtually inaugurated by Shri. VS Sunilkumar, Minister of Agriculture, Govt of Kerala. Shri. TS Kalyanaraman, Chairman & Managing Director, Kalyan Jewellers, who is also the children’s very proud grandfather was present at the exhibition.

Trained for the past eight years, under artist Shine Karunakaran, this is the first public display of Rishikesh and Manasa Kalyan’s art work. Artist Shine Karunakaran pointed out that the children were both gifted artists, and as their teacher he simply has to guide them on the technicalities of the various art mediums, and aid them in their quest to find their very own style of painting.

The art work, majority of which was produced during the past year, is reflective of the state of the environment around us today. The exhibition of Kaliyug, will be on display until April 29th at Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, Thrissur.
