Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that World Animal Disease Day is very important during the covid epidemic. Diseases that are new and recurrent after eradication pose a challenge to public health internationally. The effects of Zoonotic Diseases are huge. Two-thirds of communicable diseases are animal-borne diseases. The most commonly reported animal diseases in Kerala are leptospirosis, scrub typhus, monkey fever, Nipah, pee poisoning, Japanese fever, and West Nile fever. She also said that this was the challenge posed by Covid 19.

 When humans and animals interact with each other, germs, such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites, can enter humans and cause disease. Interactions between humans and other living things are often unavoidable. Humans, knowingly or unknowingly, interact with wildlife in many areas, including employment, food, animal husbandry, education, recreation, and forest and wildlife conservation. Therefore, they can be prevented only if there is knowledge about zoonotic diseases.
The Minister said that only through joint work in the areas of health, animal husbandry, forestry, environment, agriculture, education, economics, communication, and information technology can animal diseases, be prevented and control covid.

The modena vaccine will reach government hospitals by mid-July

New Delhi: American drug maker Modena’s Covid vaccine, which Cipla imports, will be available in selected hospitals across the country by the middle of this month, according to a report. The Economic Times reports that by July 15, the modern vaccine will reach some major hospitals. Last week, the Drug Regulator approved the import of the Cipla modern vaccine.

The imported vaccine will be handed over to the Central Government and will be transported to hospitals in metro cities across the country where they can be stored. The vaccine requires a temperature of minus 20 C for up to seven months.

A temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius is sufficient to store for a month. The vaccine is given in two doses at intervals of 28 days. The modena vaccine was found to be 90 percent effective against Covid. A senior government official said the modern vaccine would be available in hospitals where ultra-cold chain devices are available.

The good news is that the Joe Biden administration in the United States has decided to donate the vaccine to countries affected by the covid epidemic. The US may give 2.5 crore doses of the vaccine to India.

So far 35 crore doses of vaccine have been distributed in the country. The government aims to vaccinate all adults by the end of this year. covshield, covaxin, Sputnik V and Modena vaccines are approved in India.

45 killed in Philippine military plane crash

Manila: At least 45 people, including 42 soldiers, were killed when an air force transport plane crashed while landing at an airport in the southern Philippine province of Zulu. Three of the dead were locals. 49 people were rescued with injuries. The plane was carrying troops deployed to deploy Abu Sayyaf, a terrorist stronghold in Zulu.

The US-made C-130 Hercules, carrying 96 people, including three pilots, crashed at the airport in the mountain town of Jolo yesterday afternoon. A few soldiers jumped out of the plane and escaped. The seriously injured pilot was rescued.

This is stated in the study ‘Neutralization of Delta Variants with Serum of Covshield Vaccines and Covid Recovered Vaccinated Individuals’. The study was conducted by scientists from ICMR, Pune National Institute of Virology, Department of Neurosurgery, Command Hospital, and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.

Covid Third Wave maybe start on October-November

India UAE flight service suspended till July 15; Emirates

New Delhi: Emirates Airlines has announced that it will not operate flights from India to the UAE until July 15. Transit passengers traveling via India for the past 14 days will not be allowed onboard flights to the UAE, according to the Emirates website.
Earlier, Emirates officials said they would not operate services from India to the UAE until further notice. This is what has now been clarified. Meanwhile, Etihad and Air India have announced that they will not be operating flights from India to the UAE until July 21.
