RTPCR testing; The rates for private labs have been decided

New Delhi: The RTPCR test rate for private lab testing on behalf of the government has been decided. Among the empaneled private labs, the price is Rs 418 per sample. At present, the normal rate in private labs is Rs.500. In addition to government labs, samples will be tested at empaneled private labs.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Veena George said there was a shortage of covishield vaccine in six districts of the state. The health minister said there were only 1.4 lakh doses of the vaccine in the state.

The central government has been asked to deliver more vaccines as soon as possible. The minister said the shortage of vaccines would be a crisis when the government plans to provide the first dose of vaccine to all over the age of 18 by the end of September.

New Delhi: The Center has revised the list of essential medicines. Medicines for covid, cancer, heart disease, tuberculosis, and diabetes were included in the list.

With the inclusion of 39 commonly used drugs in the list, the price will go down. Sixteen drugs, including ineffective antibiotics, have been dropped from the list of essential drugs. It is reported that the price of cancer drugs will go down by up to 80 percent.

Most of the drugs on the list are used to treat cancer. The list goes on and on about the most commonly used azacitidine and Floxuridine for cancer treatment. Dolutegravir and Darunavir-Ritonavir, which are used to treat HIV, are also cheaper. Ivermectin, which is used to treat covid, is also on the list.

The Central Government updates the list of essential medicines every five years. Along with this, steps are being taken, including setting limits on the price of medicines. The list is prepared by the Pharmaceutical Department under the Ministry of Fertilizers.

Biological E-vaccine for children; DGCI approval for phase 2,3 trials

New Delhi: The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the completion of clinical trials of the covid-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 18 years. According to the DGCI report, Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials of the Made in India vaccine will be conducted following the protocol approved by the Hyderabad – based Biological e Ltd.

The trial will be held at 10 locations across the country. The approval was given by the DCGI based on the recommendations of the Covid -19 Expert Committee (SEC).

Earlier, ZyCoV – D, a needle-free Covid -19 vaccine from the indigenously developed Zydus Cadillac, was approved for immediate use. This is the first vaccine in the country for 12–18-year-olds. Meanwhile, 2/3 of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for 2 to 18-year-olds is undergoing clinical trials.

There have been reports that the covid immunization vaccine Corbevax of Biological E currently completes 2/3 of clinical trials in adults. It has been announced that by December, Biological E will provide 30 million doses of Corbevax to the Central Government. The ministry had finalized arrangements with the Hyderabad-based Corbevax manufacturers to reserve 30 crore vaccine doses.

Srinagar: Senior Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani, who passed away yesterday, was laid to rest at Srinagar Hyderpora this morning. The burial was at 4:30 in the morning with heavy security. Only Gilani’s relatives and close friends were allowed to attend.
