Fuel prices have risen again in the country

Thiruvananthapuram: Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked again in the country. Today, petrol price was hiked by 25 paise per liter and diesel by 32 paise. In Kochi, petrol costs Rs. 102 and 98 paise per liter, while diesel costs Rs. 95 and 17 paise. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol costs Rs. 104 and 88 paise per liter, while diesel costs Rs. 96 and 31 paise. Kozhikode petrol is priced at Rs. 103. 37 paise per liter, while diesel is priced at Rs. 96 and 31 paise per liter.

New Delhi: More than 300 Indians, including Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Ambani, have been included in the Pandora Papers list of the rich’s secret financial dealings abroad. The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), a Washington-based consortium of investigative journalists, has seized more than 120 million files containing information on secret investors in Panama, Monaco, Switzerland, and the Cayman Islands. According to a report released by the Indian Express, about 60 people, including Neerav Modi’s sister, are well-known persons in the country among those involved in illegal assets, money laundering, and companies.

Movie theaters will open; The first releases are yet to be decided

Movie theaters will open in the state on the 25th of this month but it has not been decided what the first releases will be. Kerala Film Producers Association president M Ranjith said it was not clear which films would be released in the first week. A meeting of the producers will be called.

As the entry is only for 50% of the audience, the big films ‘Maraikkar- Arabikkadalinte Simham, ‘Aratt’ and ‘Thuramukham’ will not be released at this stage.

Trains without reservation from Wednesday

Thiruvananthapuram: The unreserved trains from the Thiruvananthapuram Railway division will start from  Wednesday. Nine trains have been announced. Season tickets will be issued on these in addition to the existing special memo. Although these trains run as express special trains, they have stops like passengers.

Season tickets valid after March 24, when trains stop, can be used on these trains. Reservations in general compartments on long-distance expressways will continue. Passengers can use the restrooms at the stations. Passengers must follow covid standards.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has been taken into police custody

Lucknow: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has been taken into custody by UP police in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri area. Priyanka arrived in Lakhimpur Kher this morning to meet the families of farmers who were killed in violence during the protest against the anti-farmer law. Priyanka Gandhi was placed under house arrest by the UP police for she visited the families of the farmers.

It is reported that the UP police subsequently arrested Priyanka Gandhi. Priyanka was abducted and taken into police custody. Youth Congress national president BV Srinivas tweeted that Priyanka had been arrested from Harga. Meanwhile, eight people were killed in clashes in the Lakhimpur area. The clashes erupted after a vehicle rammed into a protesting farmer, killing two people. Karkar said two people were later shot dead by goons at the scene. Ashish Mishra, son of Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra Theni, and his gang. Farmers’ organizations will hold a nationwide protest today to protest the incident.

Thiruvananthapuram: Colleges open in the state today. Final Year Classes in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses begin in the state.

From October 18, all batches in colleges will start as usual. Five or six semesters at the undergraduate level and, PG classes started with semesters three and four.

Thiruvananthapuram: Crime Branch charges new against Monson Mavungal. The Crime Branch lodged a charge on Kilimanoor native’s complaint. The number of cases registered against Monsoon has increased to five.

At the same time, the opposition leader drafts a letter to the  Chief Minister seeking a CBI probe against Monson Mavungal on antiquity fraud. He said in the letter that the Crime Branch’s investigation is not credible and wants a new investigation by the CBI.

Anachal boy murder case: Accused arrested

Idukki: Sunil Kumar alias Shan, a native of Vandiperiyar Mlamala, has been arrested in connection with the death of a six-year-old boy with a hammer at Anachal Amakandam.  According to the office of the district police chief, the accused was caught by the investigation team in the Muthuvankudi area around 7 pm on Sunday.

 Abdul Fattah Rayhan, the son of the Riyaz-Safia couple, was killed Sunday morning.  He is the husband of the sister of the mother of the deceased Abdul Fattah Rayhan.  Abdul Fattah Rayhan and his mother Safia were sleeping in their house in on Saturday.  Abdul Fattah’s elder sister, a 15 – year – old girl, slept with her grandmother Zainaba in a nearby house.  According to police, the accused first attacked Abdul Fattah and his mother Safia with a hammer.  He then went to the house where the 15-year-old girl and her grandmother Zainaba were sleeping and attacked them.  The 15-year-old girl, who escaped, went to a nearby house in the morning and informed the outside world about the murder.

Mamata Banerjee gain record victory in Bhavanipur

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has won the Bhavanipur constituency in the Assembly by-elections. She won the constituency known as his home by a record majority. The majority was 58,389 votes. This is the highest majority in Bhavanipur constituency.

The BJP is trailing in all the four constituencies where by-elections were held. Mamata Banerjee is contesting from three constituencies in West Bengal and one in Odisha. 

Her opponents were Priyanka Tibrawal of the BJP and Sreejeeb Biswas of the CPM.

Though TMC defeated the BJP in the Assembly elections a few months ago, Mamata had lost. In Nandigram, Mamata lost to Suvendu Adhikari. Despite the BJP’s efforts to postpone the by-elections, the Trinamool Congress’ pressure efforts were successful. With this, the ground was prepared for the crucial by-election.

Bhawanipur is the sitting seat of the Trinamool Congress. Sovendeb Chattopadhyay won the last election. Sovendeb had resigned to contest for Mamata.
