Chance of heavy rain in the state till Monday: Yellow alert in various districts

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains will continue in the state till Monday, the Met Office said. The possibility of isolated heavy rains is forecast. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast isolated showers in Kollam, Ernakulam, and Malappuram districts for the next three hours.

A yellow alert has been declared in Kollam and Alappuzha districts tomorrow. A yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts on Saturday and in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts on Sunday. No TC wanted; Student can join any school of his choice: Minister V Sivankutty

Thiruvananthapuram: Education Minister V Sivankutty said that a student can join the school of his choice without TC during the covid period. If there is a self-declaration, the student can take admission. The minister said the department has been instructed in this regard. There have been instances where some schools have sent lawyer notices to students. The minister told the assembly that the government was taking the matter very seriously.

Any child requesting a TC is required to pay a TC to the principal of the school following Sections 5 (2) and (3) of the Right to Education Act. Admission can be given only taking into account the physical conditions of the school where the student intends to join. Higher Secondary School Transfer can be done with Single Window Admission Procedure minister clarified in reply to the MLA Shamsir’s submission.

Benjamin List, a German researcher, and David W.C. MacMillan, an American researcher of British descent, bagged the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. They won the 2021 Nobel Prize for their discovery of new chemicals. The prize money of $ 11.4 lakh (Rs 8.2 crore) will be shared between the two. Born in Frankfurt in 1968, List holds a Ph.D. from Max Goethe University.

He is currently the director of the Max Planck Institute. David MacMillan was born in 1968 in Bellshill, UK. He is currently a lecturer at Princeton University. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of California, USA.

Monson Maungal Case: The Crime Branch has expanded its Special Investigation Team

Kochi: The crime branch has expanded the special team investigating the Monson Mavungal case. The team consisted of ten officers, including inspectors. The investigation is being led by Crime Branch Thiruvananthapuram Range IG Spurgeon Kumar. Munambam Station House Officer AL Yesudas, Cochin City Cyber Station House Officer Arun KS, Palluruthy Station House Officer Sylvester K X, Ernakulam Town South Station House Officer MS Faisal, Puthencruz Police Station SI Saneesh SR, Mulavukad Police Station SI Varghese, ASI Regi TK at Kochi Central Police Station, Sajeevan, Senior Civil Police Officer at Fort Kochi Police Station, Shihab, Senior Civil Police Officer at Kochi City Cyber Police Station and Mathew, Civil Police Officer at Kochi City DHQ were newly added to the team. Meanwhile, the investigation team had found that the companies named after Monson were fake.

Drug party case; One more person in NCB Custody

Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested one more person in a case connected with a drug party in Cordelia’s cruise ship. The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested the person who smuggled drugs to the ship. He was arrested from the Mumbai Powai zone. The details of the arrested one have yet to be revealed.

The NCB obtained the details of this person after interrogating the suspects in the NCB custody. He will be interrogated in detail.  
Aryan, the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, is the main accused in the case. So far, police have arrested 16 people. Seven more people, including four employees of the Delhi Event Management Company, were arrested in connection with the case the previous day.

The court also remanded the arrested Shreyas Nair in NCB custody till 11 p.m. More than a thousand people flocked to the ship amid the covid ban in Maharashtra. They may also file a police case for violation of the covid rules. Meanwhile, the NCB says that Aryan Khan, who was arrested in the case, is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in the state. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has warned of isolated thunderstorms. Rain warning has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Wayanad, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts during the next three hours. Chance of thunderstorms in isolated areas. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast winds of up to 40 kmph. Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep have been warned not to go fishing off the coast. These places are also likely to experience winds of 40 to 50 kmph.

Three killed in Jammu and Kashmir terror attack

Lucknow: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has been arrested by the police in Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka was arrested along with 11 others. Sitapur police have charged Priyanka Gandhi with violating Section 144.

Along with Priyanka Gandhi, UP Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu, national secretary Dheeraj Gujar, Youth Congress president BV Srinivas, and MLC Deepak Mishra were also detained.

Priyanka was taken into custody by Sitapur police on Monday morning while visiting Lakhimpur Kheri, where eight people, including four farmers, were killed in a road accident involving the Union Minister’s son. Priyanka tweeted that she was taken into custody without notice or FIR and that the accused in the case of killing a farmer by hitting her vehicle are still out.

Mumbai Drug Party case; Two more arrested

Mumbai: Two more people have been arrested in connection with a drunken party on a Mumbai luxury ship. The two were apprehended during a search of the ship and the Jogeshwari area. They will be produced in court today. The NCB team is continuing to gather evidence with the arrested Arbas Merchant.

Kochi: The crime branch has found more evidence against Monson Mavungal in the archeological fraud case. Monson has defrauded the state of about Rs. 25 crore in the last four years. According to the crime branch, the transactions were done directly by avoiding bank transactions. Further investigations are underway as no records of the expenditure can be found at present.

Details of celebrations organized by Monson and payments for events organized at hotels will be sought. The investigation team had also found that the Monson edition in the name of Monson and the Kalinga companies were also fake. Monson does not have the company’s records. Meanwhile, the crime branch registered another case against Monson on a complaint filed by Santosh, a native of Kilimanoor. The complaint is that he cheated by giving antiquities.
