Srinagar:  A terrorist was killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla. There was an encounter between soldiers and terrorists in the Binnel area on Saturday at midnight.

Irshad Ahmad Bhat, a native of Baramulla Pathan, was killed, army sources said. He is an activist of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Jammu and Kashmir Police said that Irshad was an active operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba since May this year.
A gun and 30 bullets were recovered. The army has made extensive checks in the area.

Kerala govt to provide financial assistance of Rs 30,000 to interfaith marriages

Thiruvananthapuram:  Kerala government with financial assistance for interfaith marriages. The government has sanctioned Rs 12.51 crore for 4,170 interfaith couples who got married during the period till March 2021.

The Department of Social Justice has sanctioned an assistance of Rs 12.51 crore. For this, local self-governing bodies such as block panchayat municipalities and corporations have been entrusted with the task.

The annual income of applicants for financial assistance should not exceed Rs.1 lakh. A marriage registration certificate, Aadhaar, or Voter ID should be submitted as documents. This financial assistance is to be used to start a business or to buy land or a house.

The government had earmarked Rs 1.45 crore for 485 applicants in the financial year 2021-22. But according to the figures from the Department of Social Justice, there are still 4,170 applicants, and a new amount of financial assistance has been allocated.

Alappuzha is the district with the highest number of applicants. 833 mixed marriages have applied for financial assistance. Thiruvananthapuram is in the second position with 784 applicants. Malappuram has the least number of applicants. Only 37 couples have applied here.

The Air Force has started an investigation into the crash of the MiG-21 aircraft in which two pilots died. The Air Force said the accident occurred during a training flight. The accident happened around 9.10 pm on Thursday. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary condoled the incident.

An Air Force MiG-21 aircraft crashed in Bhimda village of Barbar district, Rajasthan. The wreckage of the plane was scattered over a distance of about one kilometer. District Collector, Superintendent of Police and Air Force personnel reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident is still unclear.
