Allahabad:  Malayali journalist Siddique Kappan’s bail plea was rejected in the UAPA case. The bail plea was rejected by the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.

Journalist Siddique Kappan has been in prison for 22 months. On October 5, 2020, Kappan was arrested while going to report the rape case in Hathras. He was arrested at Mathura toll plaza near Delhi. The charge sheet states that there was an attempt to riot in Hathras.

The Uttar Pradesh police had said in the charge sheet that Siddique Kappan, who was arrested in connection with the Hathras incident, was part of the Popular Front. In the charge sheet, the UP Police alleged that Kappen and his gang had prepared a plan to create a communal struggle in Uttar Pradesh by concealing the CAA and NRC struggle. The charge sheet also says that after the move failed, they made Hathras become an issue.

Plus One Admission 2022 : The first allotment will start on 5

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister V. Sivankutty said that the first allotment for Plus One admission will start on the 5th of this month. He was speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram. The first allotment will end on August 10. The minister informed that the second phase allotment will start on August 15 and the final allotment on the 22nd.
Classes will start on August 25. The first phase recommendations of the Khader Committee report will be implemented this year itself. The central allocation for providing mid-day meals in schools is delayed. The minister also said that a petition has been submitted to the Union Minister requesting that 142 crore rupees be made available immediately.
The youth festival will be held in Kozhikode on January 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. The sports fair will be held in Thiruvananthapuram in November, he said. After this government came to power, 21 schools were made mixed. Allotment will be done only after verifying whether the applying schools have adequate facilities.
The minister said that the government does not have any special mandate regarding gender uniforms. The government has not issued a special code.
So far there are no complaints regarding implemented schools.
Children should not go to school with mobile phones. Teachers and parents should pay special attention in this regard. The minister clarified that children should not be taken to other programs during school hours as this will adversely affect their studies.

Evidence Tampering Case; High Court Stays Proceedings

Kochi: Minister Antony Raju gets temporary relief in an evidence tampering case. The High Court granted a one-month stay for further proceedings in the case against Minister Antony Raju. Anthony Raju’s plea in the case of tampering with evidence
has been accepted in the file. The court also ordered notices to send notices to the opposite parties.

Antony Raju approached the High Court with a request to quash the case. The case against Antony Raju is that Australian citizen Andrew Salvatore Sarvali took away the underwear which was the main part of the drug case from the court and cut it and tampered with it.

A case was filed against Andrew Salvatore Sarveli’s lawyer Antony Raju and court clerk Jose after the forensic examination confirmed that the underwear had been cut and sewn. In 2014, the case against Antony Raju came before the Magistrate Court. However, the trial dragged on unreasonably.
The trial in the case will begin on the 4th of this month. The case is being heard by the Nedumangad Magistrate Court. Three witnesses will be examined on that day. There are a total of 29 witnesses in the case.

Another Defection in Attapadi Madhu Case; another witness changed the statement

Harassment case; Court blocked writer Civic Chandran’s arrest

Kozhikode:  The court stopped the arrest of the writer and cultural activist Civic Chandran in the molestation case. The court ordered that Civic Chandran should not be arrested till Friday. Kozhikode District Court will consider the case again the next day.

The court stopped the arrest in a case registered by the Koyilandy police. On February 8, 2020, the young writer complained that when she came to the poetry camp held on the shores of the Koyilandi Nandi Sea, she was sexually assaulted by the civic Chandran.

The complaint was that the incident happened in April when they gathered at Nandi near Koyilandy for book publication. The police report has not yet been submitted to the court.

Meanwhile, the Kozhikode District Court granted anticipatory bail to Civic Chandran in the first registered case yesterday. The court granted anticipatory bail on the basis that there was insufficient evidence against the accused. Survivor has decided to appeal against the anticipatory bail.

Central Water Commission issued a flood warning in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Water Commission has warned of flood risk in 7 rivers in the southern districts of Kerala. Warning that there will be a crisis if the water level rises in Pampa and Achankovilar.

Close contact with infected people during monkeypox outbreaks in humans is the most important risk factor for monkeypox virus infection, according to the guidance. Avoid contact with any objects, such as bedding, that have been in contact with a patient with monkeypox. Practice hand hygiene after contact with infected persons.

Wear masks and disposable gloves when approaching infected people. Use disinfectants to clean the area. Don’t use bedding and towels that have been used by people with monkeypox. The guidelines also say not to attend public events if you have symptoms of monkeypox.

Rain; State Disaster Management Authority has opened a special control room

Thiruvananthapuram:  State Disaster Management Authority has opened a special control room in case of heavy rain in the state. Officials from 7 departments will coordinate in this Emergency Operation Center. Apart from Irrigation, KSEB, Motor Vehicle, Fire and Rescue, Police, IMPRD, and Fisheries Departments, the Civil Defense Force will also be a part of the Emergency Centre.
Apart from the existing NDRF, special teams will be assigned to Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam, and Malappuram districts and the teams will be sent from the NDRF Regional Headquarters at Arkonam, Chennai. District-level emergency centers are also alert.
