An orange alert has been announced today in the districts from Pathanamthitta to Kannur. A yellow alert has been announced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Kasaragod districts.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Water Commission has warned of flood risk in 7 rivers in the southern districts of Kerala. Warning that there will be a crisis if the water level rises in Pampa and Achankovilar.

The Central Water Commission has issued a warning as heavy rains continue in the state. In the current situation, if the rain continues, the water commission has warned that there is a possibility of flooding in seven rivers in the southern districts.

There is also a warning that there will be a crisis if the water level rises in Pampa and Achankovilar rivers. Flood risk cannot be ruled out in Manimalayar as well, caution has been issued at Pullakkayar in Kottayam and Kallupara in Pathanamthitta where Manimalayar flows.
The warning says that people on the banks of the Vamanapuram and Karamana rivers should also be careful.

The water commission’s bulletin also states that flood risk cannot be ruled out even in Kallatayat.Among the big dams, only Banasura Sagar is 70 percent full.

The bulletin issued by the Water Commission also states that there is no crisis in other dams. At the same time, the Central Water Commission has issued a warning as per the protocol for opening small dams.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Union Health Ministry has issued guidelines on measures that can be taken to reduce exposure to monkeypox patients. Health experts point out that anyone can contract monkeypox if they have prolonged or repeated contact with an infected person.
Close contact with infected people during monkeypox outbreaks in humans is the most important risk factor for monkeypox virus infection, according to the guidance. Avoid contact with any objects, such as bedding, that have been in contact with a patient with monkeypox. Practice hand hygiene after contact with infected persons.

Wear masks and disposable gloves when approaching infected people. Use disinfectants to clean the area. Don’t use bedding and towels that have been used by people with monkeypox. The guidelines also say not to attend public events if you have symptoms of monkeypox.

Thiruvananthapuram:  State Disaster Management Authority has opened a special control room in case of heavy rain in the state. Officials from 7 departments will coordinate in this Emergency Operation Center. Apart from Irrigation, KSEB, Motor Vehicle, Fire and Rescue, Police, IMPRD, and Fisheries Departments, the Civil Defense Force will also be a part of the Emergency Centre.
Apart from the existing NDRF, special teams will be assigned to Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam, and Malappuram districts and the teams will be sent from the NDRF Regional Headquarters at Arkonam, Chennai. District-level emergency centers are also alert.

Thrissur: The test results of the young man who died in Thrissur confirmed monkeypox. The result of the test done at the Pune Virology Lab came. Then he was first admitted to a private hospital in Chavakkad and from there to Thrissur. The disease was confirmed in a test conducted abroad. A meeting was called today in Punnayur under the leadership of health department officials for further preventive measures.

Thiruvananthapuram:  The Crime Branch has started an investigation into the AKG Center attack. The crime branch team reached the AKG center and conducted an inspection. A team led by Crime Branch DYSP Jalil Thottil is conducting the investigation. The case was transferred to the crime branch after the special investigation team that investigated the AKG center attack could not find the accused.
The investigation team reached the AKG center and conducted a site inspection. Those interrogated by the Special Investigation Team will be re-interrogated. The CCTV footage handed over by the investigation team will be sent for scientific examination and the information on the phones operating on the mobile towers in the area at the time of the attack will be collected.
