Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Water Commission has warned of flood risk in 7 rivers in the southern districts of Kerala. Warning that there will be a crisis if the water level rises in Pampa and Achankovilar.

Avoid contact with any objects, such as bedding, that have been in contact with a patient with monkeypox. Practice hand hygiene after contact with infected persons.

Wear masks and disposable gloves when approaching infected people. Use disinfectants to clean the area. Don’t use bedding and towels that have been used by people with monkeypox. The guidelines also say not to attend public events if you have symptoms of monkeypox.

Thiruvananthapuram:  State Disaster Management Authority has opened a special control room in case of heavy rain in the state. Officials from 7 departments will coordinate in this Emergency Operation Center. Apart from Irrigation, KSEB, Motor Vehicle, Fire and Rescue, Police, IMPRD, and Fisheries Departments, the Civil Defense Force will also be a part of the Emergency Centre.
Apart from the existing NDRF, special teams will be assigned to Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam, and Malappuram districts and the teams will be sent from the NDRF Regional Headquarters at Arkonam, Chennai. District-level emergency centers are also alert.
