Low pressure strengthened over Bay of Bengal; Widespread rain likely in Kerala from today

The low pressure over the southwest Bay of Bengal along the northeast Sri Lankan coast has turned into a Well Marked Low-Pressure Area.As a result of this, the Central Meteorological Department informs that there is a possibility of widespread rain and heavy rain at isolated places in Kerala from November 11 to 14.

Central Meteorological Department has informed that strong low pressure will move in the northwest direction till the morning of November 12 and move towards Tamil Nadu – Puducherry coast and then move in a west-northwest direction over Tamil Nadu – Puducherry and Kerala on November 12 and 13.


	            

Governor removed as chancellor of Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University

Thiruvananthapuram: Kalamandalam deemed University has removed Governor Arif Mohammad Khan from the post of chancellor. The Chancellor is to be appointed by the sponsor as per the rules of Kalamandalam University. The governor was removed under this condition. Kalamandalam works under the state culture department. The culture department issued an order removing the chancellor from his position. The new order of the government is to appoint education experts as chancellors.

Meanwhile, the removal of the governor from the position of chancellor of Kerala Kalamandalam was the first step in the removal of the governor from the position of chancellor of the state universities. The governor was made the chancellor through an executive order during the Ummanchandy government. This has now been changed through another executive order.

As per the rules & regulations of the Kalamandalam deemed University, the power to appoint the Chancellor is vested in the State Government. Using this power, the government issued an order to remove the governor from the post of chancellor of the culture department.

As per Government Order GO (ms) 39/2015/CAD dated 12.11.2015 of 2015, the Chancellor shall be the Chancellor of Kalamandalam University. The governor was removed from the post of chancellor by amending this. The chancellor was removed from the post ahead of the appointment of experts with expertise in the fields of arts and culture. The Pro-Chancellor will hold the charge of the Chancellor until the new Chancellor takes charge.

Malpractices are increasing; Central Government issued a directive to renew Aadhar cards

New Delhi: Central directive to renew Aadhaar. Information should be updated after 10 years of registration. The direction of the center is to provide more documents. For this, identification, address documents and phone number must be provided. Even if there is no change in the information, the center also clarified that the documents of the respective time can be provided. Information can be updated through the online portal and Aadhaar centers. The Centre’s proposal comes in the context of rampant fraud using Aadhaar cards. Earlier it was suggested to update the information but it was not mandatory.

Aadhaar is registered with the help of an iris, fingerprint, and photographs. Meanwhile, Aadhaar is now mandatory in many places. To avail of government benefits, individuals need to update their Aadhaar data to avoid inconvenience in identification/certification.
The Center has termed the new guidelines as Aadhaar Enrollment and Update 10th Amendment. The information must be updated every ten years. Identification, address documents, and phone numbers are to be provided. The new guidelines came into force yesterday.
But in the last 10 years, Aadhaar has become a means of identifying individuals. Aadhaar is now mandatory in all areas, from obtaining government benefits to obtaining various certificates. 

More arrests in Delhi liquor policy scam case

New Delhi:  More arrests in Delhi liquor policy scam case. Sarath Reddy, MD, Aurobindo Pharma Group, Hyderabad, and Vinoy Babu, a senior employee of liquor company Pernod Ricard, were arrested by the ED.

The ED had earlier interrogated both of them and raided their residence as well. Malayali Vijay Nair and Abhishek Rao have also been arrested by the CBI.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s corruption case is being investigated by CBI and ED.

Coimbatore blast; NIA conducted raids in Palakkad also

Palakkad: NIA raid has conducted raids in Palakkad in the wake of the Coimbatore blast. The inspection was conducted at Muthalamada Chappakkad near Kollankod. The NIA team searched the residence of Abu Bakar Siddique, who was arrested for his links to IS.

The NIA had earlier confirmed that those arrested had reached Kerala after the blast. The Chennai unit of the NIA searched today at the house of Shaikh Mustafa, Muthalamada, Chappakkad, Kollengode. Mustafa is a native of Coimbatore. Sheikh Mustafa is also the cousin of Riyaz Abubakar, who was arrested by the NIA for his links with IS. NIA investigation in Tamil Nadu is going on.

In Coimbatore, inspections were conducted at 20 centers today. The inspection was conducted at Coimbatore Kottamedu, Ukkadam, Ponvila Nagar, and Ratnapura. Nizamuddin, a second-hand car dealer in Chennai who provided the car in which the blast took place, has also been taken into custody by the NIA.

Meanwhile, on the evening of October 23, an explosion occurred in Coimbatore after a cylinder exploded in a car. The car driver died in the incident. Based on the investigation, five accused were taken into police custody. UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) was charged against them. During the investigation, 109 items including potassium were seized.

The mastermind of the bomb blast, Jamesha Mubin, was killed by a nail in the heart, according to the post-mortem report. Jamesha Mubin himself had kept explosives along with nails and sharp marble pieces inside the car to increase the impact of the blast.
When the explosion happened, a nail pierced Jamesha Mubin’s heart. One of the nails pierced through the left side of the chest and drove into the heart. Apart from this, the post-mortem report also says that many nails had penetrated Jamesha’s body. Jamesha Mubin’s body was burnt all over in the blast, but his body was not dismembered.

A fireworks shop caught fire in Madurai; Five people burned to death

Chennai: Fire broke out in a fireworks shop in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, killing five people and seriously burning ten people. The accident took place in Azhakuchira village near Usilampatti in the Madurai district.

Many of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. The firecracker factory was completely gutted in the explosion. It is reported that the firecracker factory caught fire while the workers were working.

The police and fire brigade reached the spot after getting the information. The cause of the explosion is not clear.

Five terrorists arrested from Kupwara

Srinagar: The police arrested five people who were involved in terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists were working under the cover of Islahi Falahi Relief Trust with a terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Mujahideen, in Jammu and Kasmir. They were arrested in a joint raid conducted by the Army and the Kashmir Police.

The team was led by Bilal Ahmad Dhar a native of Cheerkot, police said. Grenades and guns have been found in their possession. The accused has tried to recruit youths for terrorist groups and distributed the money coming from Pakistan as terror funding through the account belonging to the organization, police added. 

Contents with national interest should be broadcast; Center’s direction to channels

New Delhi: The central government has directed the channels to include contents with the national interest. The central government has also directed that topics of public interest should be telecasted. It is also suggested that a 30-minute program slot should be allotted for this purpose. The Union Cabinet has approved the proposals put forward by the Union Ministry of Information and Communications regarding channel uplinking and down-linking guidelines.

This order deals mainly with four subjects. Three of them are technical subjects. These instructions deal with the issue of permission related to the provision of live coverage and the use of technical equipment, including DSNG. As part of the last proposal, it is specified that the contents dealing with social issues and national issues should be aired for half an hour daily.

Nirav Modi to be extradited to India; The appeal was dismissed by the London High Court

London: London High Court verdict to extradite Nirav Modi, the accused in Punjab National Bank financial fraud case to India. The court rejected Nirav’s appeal against deportation in the case. Nirav Modi is currently in the Wandsworth Jail in South East London. Last February, Nirav filed an appeal in the London High Court against the deportation. The case against Nirav Modi is for defrauding a loan of 13,000 crores from Punjab National Bank.

He left the country after the investigation started. In 2019, Nirav Modi was arrested in Britain. But Nirav Modi filed an appeal citing that extradition to India would affect his mental health. The London court said India maintains good relations with Britain and believes in India’s assurances that Nirav Modi will be given the necessary medical care in Mumbai jail.

Huge ganja hunt in Palakkad; Two people arrested
