Nirav Modi to be extradited to India; The appeal was dismissed by the London High Court

London: London High Court verdict to extradite Nirav Modi, the accused in Punjab National Bank financial fraud case to India. The court rejected Nirav’s appeal against deportation in the case. Nirav Modi is currently in the Wandsworth Jail in South East London. Last February, Nirav filed an appeal in the London High Court against the deportation. The case against Nirav Modi is for defrauding a loan of 13,000 crores from Punjab National Bank.

He left the country after the investigation started. In 2019, Nirav Modi was arrested in Britain. But Nirav Modi filed an appeal citing that extradition to India would affect his mental health. The London court said India maintains good relations with Britain and believes in India’s assurances that Nirav Modi will be given the necessary medical care in Mumbai jail.
