Aizawl: Soram People’s Movement leader Lalduhoma took office as the Chief Minister of Mizoram. Governor Hari Babu Kampampatti administered the oath at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. All 11 ministers took oath along with the Chief Minister.
Former chief minister Soramthanka and senior party leaders were present. The 40-member Mizoram Legislative Assembly has 12 ministers including the Chief Minister. It is the first time in the history of Mizoram that a party other than Congress or ANA has come to power.
The People’s Movement, which was registered as a political party in 2019, has won 27 seats.
MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India has raised the limit of transactions through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to 5 lakhs. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das stated that the limit has been increased for transactions related to hospitals and educational institutions. Currently, up to one lakh rupees can be transferred through UPI.
The e-mandate limit for mutual funds, insurance premiums and credit card repayments has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
The crucial decision was announced along with the announcement of RBI’s bi-monthly lending policy.
New Delhi: The center has warned about the use of painkiller Meftal. There is a warning that the use of this medicine can affect the internal organs and cause serious side effects. The warning was issued by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC). Officials also state that the ingredient mefenamic acid in the medicine can cause many types of allergies.
Mephthalene is commonly prescribed as an analgesic for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, dysmenorrhea, mild to moderate pain, inflammation, fever, toothache, and menstrual cramps. Many types of allergies usually develop within two to eight weeks. Its symptoms include skin rash, fever, and lymphadenopathy.
In a cautionary advisory issued on November 30, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission has asked health workers and patients to monitor for side effects in users of Meftal. Officials have also stated that there is a mechanism to inform through the website www.ipc.gov.in if any side effects are seen with meftal.
Mumbai: RBI has left the repo rate unchanged this time. There has been no change in the repo rate in the last four credit policy meetings. The RBI’s credit policy meeting decided to keep the repo rate at 6.5 percent in the context of low inflation and economic growth. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das informed that the credit policy committee reached this decision unanimously.

New Delhi, December 8, 2023 – Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra was expelled from Lok Sabha on Tuesday on charges of accepting bribes to raise questions in Parliament. The decision was taken after the Ethics Committee recommended the same.
The motion was passed by voice vote, with the opposition boycotting the voting. Lok Sabha adjourned for the day till Monday.
The report states that the charges against Moitra are “extremely offensive and heinous”. Moitra was accused of accepting a bribe from businessman Darshan Hiranandaniya to raise questions in Parliament.
Moitra has denied the allegations, calling them “baseless” and “politically motivated”. She has said that she will challenge the decision in court.
Moitra’s expulsion is a major blow to the Trinamool Congress. She was a rising star in the party and was seen as a potential successor to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The expulsion is also a setback for the opposition, which has been trying to corner the government on corruption allegations.
Rajendran had been hospitalized for a few days due to illness. He had undergone an amputation of his right foot due to high blood sugar levels. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital when he suffered respiratory distress and a heart attack.
Rajendran was a native of Vazhoor, Kottayam. He had been the CPI’s state secretary since 2015.
His body will be brought to Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday morning by a special flight. Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet meeting has decided to rename the posts of Munsiff-Magistrate and Sub-Judge/Chief Judicial Magistrate in the Kerala Judicial Service.
Redesignation of Munsif-Magistrate as Civil Judge (Junior Division) and Sub Judge / Chief Judicial Magistrate as Civil Judge (Senior Division). For this, the Kerala Judicial Service Rules, 1991 will be amended. The change is as per the instructions of the Supreme Court.
