New Delhi: The country has banned Pakistani-flagged ships from Indian ports. The Union Ministry of Shipping has issued an order in this regard.

Meanwhile, India had banned all imports from Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the decision was taken keeping in mind national security.

All direct or indirect imports have been banned with immediate effect. The order also states that any exemptions require the approval of the Central Government.

Mangalore: Eight people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Bajrang Dal leader Suhas Shetty. Police said that the murder was the result of a dispute between quotation groups and that it was not a political murder.

The arrests were made by members of a gang led by a local goon named Safwan. In 2023, Safwan was attacked by Suhas Shetty’s friend Prashant. Safwan, who was hospitalized in critical condition in the attack, had a grudge against Prashant.

It was Suhas Shetty who protected Prashant. Police explain that this grudge is believed to have led to the murder.

After the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, the problems between the two countries have intensified. After the closure of the Wagah border, the Indus Water Treaty was revoked. The airspace has also been closed.

New Delhi: Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have received court notices in connection with the National Herald case. The Rouse Avenue Court issued the notices seeking their response to the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The case will be heard again on May 7.

Earlier, the court had declined to issue notices to the two leaders, stating that the necessity for such notices must be clearly established. However, during a subsequent hearing, the ED submitted the required documents, prompting the court to send notices to both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

According to the chargesheet, the allegations revolve around the alleged misappropriation of assets worth around ₹2,000 crore belonging to Associated Journals Limited (AJL), the publisher of the National Herald newspaper. It is claimed that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, as directors of a company named Young Indian, acquired these assets for just ₹50 lakh.

Following the investigation, the ED had earlier attached properties and shares worth ₹751.9 crore belonging to AJL and Young Indian, organizations linked to the Congress party.

Srinagar: In response to India’s actions following the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan has stopped the broadcasting of Indian songs on its FM radio stations. The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) has confirmed that Indian music will no longer be aired across FM stations in the country.

PBA Secretary General Shakeel Masood stated that the decision affects FM radio stations nationwide, where Indian songs were regularly played. Information Minister Atta Tarar also confirmed the move, saying the government has directed all FM stations to cease broadcasting Indian songs, citing the current strained bilateral relations as the reason.
