New Delhi: India has banned all imports from Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. The Ministry of Commerce of the Center has clarified that the decision is taken keeping in mind the national security. All direct or indirect imports have been banned with immediate effect. The order also states that the approval of the Central Government is required for any kind of concessions.
From April 2024 to January 2025, products worth $ 4,20,000 were imported from Pakistan to India.
After the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, the problems between the two countries have intensified. After the closure of the Wagah border, the Indus Water Treaty was revoked. The airspace has also been closed.
