Sindhu Menon thrilled with the response

Tamil movie Eeram, Produced by director Shankar’s ‘S’ Pictures and starring Nanda, Aadhi (of ‘Mirugam’ fame) and Sindhu Menon in lead roles, has opened to fantastic response from the public in almost all the centres in Tamil Nadu.  The film is said to be doing particularly well in the Chennai-Madurai-Coimbatore cities, known as ‘A’ Centre .

Heroine Sindhu Menon, who is obviously on a high, was last seen in Tamil films in director Bharathiraaja’s award-winning film ‘Kadal Pookkal’ opposite Murali many years ago.  She didn’t get any offers from Tamil directors/producers and migrated to her native Kerala where she has done around 20 films in various languages as on date.  For the past week, Sindhu has been making anxious telephone calls to her friends in Chennai from her State to know about the fate of ‘Eeram’.
When queried why she ‘avoided’ Tamil films for a decade, Sindhu is quick to reply that it wasn’t her fault that she wasn’t getting any tempting offer other than ‘Eeram’ during this period.  “I was busy with my Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film commitments.  When I was on the look out for an interesting subject for my re-entry in Tamil films, director Arivazhagan came to Hyderabad to narrate the story of ‘Eeram’ to me, which I readily agreed to do.”
