By admin “Ritu” is being talked as different attempt from national award winning director Shyamaprasad. While his ventures have so far been based on popular novels, “Ritu” is based on a script by a freelancer. According to him this flick will be a youthful in nature and will focus on the new generation and their values. He added that the flick can be termed as a modern day morality flick. The movie is expected to be released on August 7th.

I got an invitation to watch the preview at Trivandrum. It does finally look like RITU- a film directed by Shyamaprasad – will usher in a wave of change in Malayalam cinema. The music, cinematography, the acting- all of it had plenty of freshness. Most important was the theme and the issues RITU attempts to make its audience think about. I am not a “mallu” by birth but i have always had respect for “Mal’ films and catch up with a lot whenever am in Kerala.
I dont know when they are releasing this film …they did not annouce the date which they should have and was hoping they would introduce the cast and crew…anyway the preview was worth the time as the film had quite a lot to offer.
But one RITU cannot change the seasons of Mal cinema. Mal films need more and more different RITU to truly make a sea change.
This film is sure hit with its target audience. hopefully they release it outside Kerala/India.
