Malayalam Actor Rajan P Dev Passed Away

Well known Malayalam actor Rajan P Dev, 54, passed away in Kochi on Wednesday morning at 6.30. He was ailing for some time and was diagnosed with a lung problem, because of which he has been shifted and admitted at the Lake Shore Hospital in Kochi on Tuesday. He sufferred a heart attack this morning in a private hospital.

Born at Cherthala in Alappuzha district of Kerala he had acted in various Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu movies. He is survived by three children.

He was admitted to the Ernakulam Hospital a few days back and his health condition was said to be in a serious condition yesterday as his relatives found him spitting blood when he was vomitting. The actor had been taking rest at his town near Ernakulam recently, owing to poor health.

The body will be placed for the public to pay homage at the Ernakulam Town Hall in the afternoon and in the evening will be taken to his home at Angamaly. It is expected that the final rites will be held tomorrow.

He had essayed many unforgettable roles in movies like Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava, Thommanum Makkalum, Commissioner, Achamakuttiyude Achayan, Chanthupottu, Chocolate and many more in Malayalam. He has acted in many Tamil films like Suryan, Gentleman, Periya Idathu Maappillai, Love Today, Kushi and the recently released Karthik Anitha.

The Malayali actor has acted in more than 100 films and has been a popular choice to play the baddie. His last movie was Pattanathil Bhootham.
