Noted Malayalam script writer T. Damodaran (77) passed away. His death was at his daughter’s house at Calicut on Wednesday morning. He was a hit maker in Malayalam film industry. He also played roles in some films. His absence was a big loss to Malayalam film industry.
T. Damodaran came to Malayalam film by showing his face on ‘Olavum Theravum’. He had done a supporting character in that movie. He had done his first script for the film ‘Love Marriage’. The scripts which had done for director I. V. Sasi were mega hits.
T. Damodaran – I.V. Sasi team had done about 25 films. Almost of the films were mega hits. It was a golden era in the history of Malayalam film. History and social environment were the hemes of his scripts.
Some of his hit films with I.V.Sasi are Angadi, Karimpana,, Eee Nadu, Nanayam,Vartha,Avanazhi,
Damodran Master gave birth to so many characters in Malayalam who fight against the social injustice and nuisance. His characters gave light on public about the importance of equality and social justice.
The script writer of Maniratnam’s first Malayalm film ‘Unaru’ was T. Damodaran, film was released at 1984. He had done script with Priya Dharshan for the big budget film ‘Kalapani’. He also had done script with N.N. Swami for the film ‘Balaram Vs TharaDas’ which was released on 2006.
T. Damodran – I.V. Sasi team ‘s films were stepping stones of Mamooty’s career in Malyalam film. The major part of Mamooty’s box office hits in his early stage of career were born from this team.
Kattathae Killikudu, Ethiri Poovae Chovana Poovae, Anaval Mothiram, Megham,Katilea Thadi thevarudu Anna are the other hits films of T. Damodran.
Damodaran also played roles in hit films”Kilichundan Mampazham,Paleri Manikyam etc. His funeral will be on Thursday at Calicut.
