Thilakan was selected for the award for his contribution to the film world, society president Poykamukku Hari told a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. The award will be given away by Uthradam Tirunal Marthanda Varma, head of the ruling family of erstwhile Travancore, at a function to be held at Attingal on Saturday.
