Thiruvananthapuram: The arrest of the accused in the murder of an Uber taxi driver at Chakka in Thiruvananthapuram has been registered. Sanal Mohammad Khani and Sajad, residents of Puthukkurichi, Kathinamkulam were arrested.
Defendant Sanal Mohammad sustained a hand injury during the attack. Sanal was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. However, the hospital authorities informed the police about the suspicion.
The information about the murder came to light after the Vanchiyoor police questioned him. When the police reached the house in Chakka, Sampath was found bleeding to death.
The victim was found dead in a rented house near Chakka on Monday morning. There were about sixty wounds on Sambath’s body. The two chased and stabbed Sambath, who tried to run away from behind during the attack. The Vanchiyoor CI Ragesh Kumar said that they are also investigating the links of the incident.
Sanal, one of the accused in the murder case, was earlier arrested by the Attingal police in connection with the cannabis case. The postmortem of the Sambath will take place today.
