Change in Covid discharge criteria; No negative certificate is required for those who are not seriously ill

Covid Negative - Kerala9.com

Thiruvananthapuram: Change in the discharge protocol of Covid patients. Patients who are not seriously ill do not need a Covid negative certificate for discharge. Those with mild symptoms can be discharged three days after the symptoms have cleared. Currently, the discharge is only if the antigen test is negative.

Serious ones will be examined on the fourteenth day. Those who are discharged without testing should be monitored at home for a total of 17 days. Non-critical patients can be transferred to a primary care center or home. The new discharge guideline focuses on critically ill patients.

The decision comes against the backdrop of escalating Covid expansion.
