Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the country’s first seaplane service in Gujarat. The service is from the Statue of Unity located at Kevadia in Narmada district to the Sabarmati river basin in Ahmedabad.

The Prime Minister traveled in the first service. The seaplane service was launched as part of the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The seaplane was set up by SpiceJet. The 19-seater aircraft can carry up to 12 passengers. The ticket price is Rs 4,800 per person.

The distance from Ahmedabad to Kevadia is 200 km. On the seaplane, it can be reached within 40 minutes.
