Setback for Senthil Balaji:  The Supreme Court rejected the petition against the arrest

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition filed by Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji and his wife Rangshi against the Madras High Court verdict against him in the money laundering case. A bench comprising Justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundaresh dismissed the petition.

The court remanded Senthil in ED custody till August 12 and left the issue of whether police custody cannot be granted after the 15-day remand period for consideration by the bench. Senthil and his wife approached the Supreme Court against the action of the High Court which rejected the action of questioning the arrest.
