New Delhi: Post offices will be open every day including holidays till Independence Day.
The action is part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Post offices will be open every day till Independence Day to facilitate the sale and distribution of the national flag.
The central government has directed to make special arrangements in the post offices on August 9 and 14, which are holidays, to facilitate the sale and distribution of the national flag. This applies to all post offices across the country. The proposal also says to open at least one counter for this purpose.
More than six lakh national flags have been handed over to post offices for sale. Reports are that more than two lakh flags have been sold.
