New RTPCR test kit to detect omicron variant

New Delhi: A new RTPCR test kit has been developed to detect the Omicron variant in the face of an increasing number of Omicron cases in the country. The test kit has been jointly developed by ICMR and Tata Medical Ad Diagnostics. The test results will be released in four hours. The ICMR chief was speaking at a press conference held by the Ministry of Health. Informed that Balram Bhargava has developed the kit.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has announced a new decision regarding the reserve dose (booster dose) vaccine. The Ministry of Health said that the vaccine which was received twice as a precautionary measure will be given as a booster dose vaccine. The booster dose will be given from January 10. Ravi Vasanthapuram, Head of Research and Development, Tata MD, said that all variants of covid can be confirmed with this test kit.

The Union Health Ministry said it was concerned about the sharp rise in covid cases in the country. In 28 districts, the test positivity rate is above 10 percent. The number of people receiving treatment in six states has crossed 10,000, according to the Ministry of Health.
