Thiruvananthapuram: Covid restrictions have been tightened again in the state. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. Only 100 to 100 people are allowed to attend public events. Admission to malls requires an RTPCR test and a negative certificate. Those who have taken two doses of the vaccine can also enter the malls.
Covid also decided to test 2.5 million people tomorrow and the day after. Ernakulam has one of the highest numbers of inspections and the highest number of reported cases per day. The decision was made to test 30,900 people in two days. The first consideration in the mass examination will be those who have worked in connection with the election campaign and election duty.

It was also decided at an online meeting chaired by the Chief Minister to ask the Central Government to bring more vaccines to the state. Mega vaccination camps will be expanded once the vaccine is available. It has been decided to vaccinate up to 2.5 lakh people a day.

It was also agreed to set up more beds in the intensive care units of hospitals in the state. District Collectors have already been permitted to declare 144 at the local level. Also, there are plans to tighten restrictions on public spaces with the help of the police and sectoral magistrates.

More mass vaccine distribution centers will be set up from the 19th of this month. Vaccine supply will be accelerated. This will be done in the wards with the help of local bodies. The government aims to make people as immunized as possible through vaccination.
