Palakkad: The legendary playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, whose magical voice transcended boundaries and languages, has been immortalized with a new memorial in Palakkad. A full-size statue of the musical icon was recently unveiled at the V.T. Bhattathiripad Cultural Complex, which operates under the Department of Culture, Government of Kerala.
IAS officer Dr. Divya S Iyer shared the joyful news through her social media page, noting that the “wonder singer” will now live on forever within the cultural complex. The statue was erected by the State’s Cultural Department with the support of the organization ‘Samam’.
To mark this momentous occasion, a grand musical night was organized at the venue, celebrating the rich legacy of the late singer. Adding to the grandeur of the evening was the presence of another musical maestro, Hariharan. In her post, Dr. Divya S Iyer also shared her personal joy, expressing that receiving honors from the great singer Hariharan during the event was a deeply cherished moment for her.
