The wait is finally over! The highly anticipated teaser for Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus, Ramayana, has officially dropped, taking the internet by storm. Offering fans their first glimpse into this monumental cinematic adaptation, the teaser promises a visually stunning and emotionally grounded retelling of the great Indian epic.
Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram & A Glimpse of Yash as Ravan
The teaser beautifully introduces Ranbir Kapoor stepping into the mythical shoes of Lord Ram. From the grand coronation sequence to the solemn exile in the forests of Panchavati, Kapoor embodies the character with remarkable poise, elegance, and celestial glory.
Adding to the massive hype, the teaser leaves fans wanting more with a fleeting, powerful glimpse of KGF star Yash as Raya (Ravan) towards the very end.
A Staggering Budget of Rs 4,000 Crore
Ramayana is set to shatter records before it even hits theaters. The film has been mounted on a mind-boggling budget of Rs 4,000 crore (approximately $500 million) for both parts combined, making it the most expensive Indian film ever produced.
Speaking on the massive scale of the project, Producer Namit Malhotra shared his vision in a recent interview:
“When we set out to make this six or seven years ago, people thought I was a lunatic because no Indian film comes close to this scale. We’re making the largest film in the world for the greatest epic that deserves to be seen globally. And yet, I believe we’re doing it more efficiently than some of the biggest Hollywood films. We’re not being irresponsible—we’re being ambitious, but grounded.”
Historic Musical Collaboration: AR Rahman & Hans Zimmer
To match the epic scale of the visuals, the makers have brought together two global musical titans: Academy Award-winning composers AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. This marks their first-ever collaboration on a film project.
Discussing the high-profile partnership, AR Rahman stated:
“It’s terrifying for both of us. We’re scoring something so iconic and so important to the world. In the promo, Hans created a brilliant soundscape, and I took that and added the Sanskrit words at the end. What’s complicated is that we’re taking something so epic, which every Indian knows, and we have to give them something new—from India to the world.”
Star-Studded Cast & Release Dates
The film features an ensemble cast of pan-Indian superstars who will bring the legendary characters of the Ramayana to life. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, the film stars:
- Sai Pallavi as Sita
- Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman

When is Ramayana releasing? The epic saga will be released in two cinematic installments:
- Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in October 2026, just ahead of the Diwali festive season.
- Ramayana: Part 2 is slated to hit screens on Diwali 2027.
With its breathtaking visuals, record-breaking budget, and a powerhouse cast and crew, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is gearing up to be a global cinematic event.
