Baghdad: Global oil prices are on the rise as news of the Iranian commander’s death in a US drone strike at Baghdad airport in the capital of Iraq has surfaced. Crude oil prices soared by four percent in one day. Brent crude rose 4% to $ 69 a barrel on Friday. This is likely to affect the world’s prosperity system. Quds chief Qasim Sulaimani was killed in an attack on Iran amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

More than one-fifth of the global oil supply passes through the Strait of Hormuz on the Iranian border. It is also the most important strategic area in the world. The bulk of oil coming into India is through Hormis. India is Iran’s largest oil consumer after China. India’s public sector oil companies bought tons of crude oil from Iran last fiscal. Experts say the Indian market could be impacted if the current conflict does not end.

OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) contributes forty percent of the world’s oil supply. Iran ranks second among OPEC countries.

Tehran: The Iranian Revolutionary Guards chief who was killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad has been replaced. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Revolutionary Guards Department, Esmail Qaani.

Following the martyrdom of General Qasim Suleiman, Brigadier General Ismail Khani has been appointed as the new head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, KhamnaE said. The announcement was made through the official website. Ismail Khani was one of the commanders who led the Iran-Iraq war in 1980-88.

Besides, the deputy commander of the Mobilization Force, Abu Mahdi Mohandis and Muhammad Rada were killed in the US attack, along with the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The United States rocketed early Friday morning to target the military. Seven people have been killed in the attack.

Taipei: Helicopter crash kills eight people, including a Thai military commander. The incident occurred this morning. The accident is expected to take place in Taiwan on the presidential and parliamentary elections. The helicopter crashed in a mountainous area on the northern side of the island, officials said. Taiwan Air Force Commander confirmed at noon that Chief of Staff Shen Ying Ming and seven military personnel were killed. India to the Lunar again; Chandrayaan 3 soft landing target in 2020

New Delhi: India’s third mission to the Lunar will be completed by 2020 Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs said.

“The Lander and Rover mission will be implemented in 2020. Chandrayaan 2 was not a failure, we have learned a lot from it. No country in the world has succeeded in its first attempt, and even the United States has tried many times. But we don’t need that much effort, ‘says Jitendra Singh.

Chandrayaan 2 was India’s first mission to land on the Lunar. The crash happened on September 7 while trying to land on the moon. Jitendra Singh confirmed this in Parliament. SMS service restored in Kashmir; Internet in government hospitals

Srinagar: The mobile SMS service which was disconnected in the state following the cancellation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir has been restored after five months from midnight on Tuesday. Internet services are also provided in government hospitals.

Jammu and Kashmir government spokesman Rohit Kansal said the government has decided to restore the Internet to all government hospitals along with a complete restoration of the mobile phone SMS service. Meanwhile, Kashmir’s internet and pre-paid mobile services have not yet been restored. Reports say Kashmir is witnessing the longest internet cancellation in a democracy.

“We are trying to take every possible step, slowly but surely,” said Kansal, who is also the Principal Secretary for Planning, Development, and Monitoring of the Jammu and Kashmir government.

Currently, students, contractors, tour operators, and government officials can access various Internet touchpoints, Kansal said. There are over 900 touchpoints and special counters in Kashmir’s major tourist destinations, hotels, and various districts. About six lakh people have availed themselves of these touchpoints.

Five MLAs have been released from their MLA hostel in Srinagar on Monday. Former chief ministers Farooq Abdullah, Umar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti is still in detention. “They will be released on the basis of law and order situation,” Kansal said.
