New Delhi: NEET exam for medical entrance will be held on July 26. This was announced by Human Resources Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal. The Main Entrance Examination for Engineering Entrance will be held from July 18 to 23.
The advanced exam will be held in August and the date will be decided later. Ramesh Pokhriyal said the dates of the CBSE 10th and XII exams will be decided soon.
New Delhi: The expatriates are stranded overseas after a lockdown was announced due to coronavirus. The ticket rate for their return was released. Tickets are available from Abu Dhabi-Kochi 15,000, Dubai-Kochi 15,000, Doha-Kochi 16,000, Bahrain-Kochi 17,000, Muscat-Kochi 14,000, Doha-Trivandrum 17,000, Kuala Lumpur-Kochi 15000, Bahrain-Kozhikode 16,000, and Kuwait-Kozhikode 19,000. The expatriates from the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Malaysia, US, Singapore, UK, and Bangladesh Philippines have arrived in the country in the first week. About 30 aircraft of the Air Force and 10 Navy ships have been deployed for repatriation. In the first phase, Air India will be the only service.
Alappuzha: Trains from Kerala to Bihar with guest workers were canceled. Five trains were canceled. The trains from Alappuzha, Tirur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Aluva stations have been canceled due to a lack of permission from the Bihar government. The district administration informed the guest workers that travel to the country is not allowed today and that they can return in the coming days.
Five thousand workers from five places were returning home today. The state government has failed to get the approval of the Bihar government, though all the procedures for transporting workers have been completed on the Kerala side. The state government has already started trying to run the train before May 8.
Five trains with 5,574 guest workers from Kannur, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Ernakulam districts left yesterday. The Saharsha nonstop train with 1140 persons left Kannur at around 7 pm. The train from Kozhikode departed for Kathihar, Bihar. A total of 1090 passengers from various labor camps in Vadakara taluk left the train on their way home.
The train from Thrissur with 1143 passengers left for Darbhanga in Bihar. As per the Labor Department, the district has 3,898 workers from Bihar. The train from Ernakulam district proceeded to Baruni, Bihar. The train was carrying 1140 passengers. The second train departed for Muzaffarpur at six o’clock.
Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a letter to non-stop trains to return Malayalees stranded in other states. He also demanded that trains carrying guest workers from Kerala be utilized for the return of Malayalees.
New Delhi: Govt announces that 4G internet service in Jammu & Kashmir cannot be restored. The center Govt has stated this in the Supreme Court. The Center explained that terrorists are misusing internet service. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the case was adjourned for judgment.
The petitioners argued that the government could block abusive websites. The petitioners said the ban on the internet was a violation of their rights. Justices NV Ramana, Surya Kant, and BR Gawai filed the plea. The argument was heard through video conferencing.

Kochi: The former sexton of Malayattoor Cross Church, Malayattoor Vattapparamban Johnny gets life imprisonment in the murder case of Rector Fr. Xavier Thelakat. Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court sentenced the accused.
On March 1, 2018, at the Malayattoor Kurisumudi junction, Johnny stabbed Fr. Xavier. Johnny had been kept out of the job following excessive drinking. According to the police charge sheet, Johnny grabbed a knife from the pilgrimage center on the day of the incident and stabbed Fr. Xavier to death.
Chandigarh: The Punjab government has extended parole for inmates who have been released from jail in the wake of Covid. The parole ministry has decided to extend the parole period to 16 weeks.
In this regard, the State Government will introduce necessary amendments to Punjab Good Contact Prisons Act, 1962. Prisoners who have been sentenced to seven years or less in case of virus infection are eligible for parole.

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rain and thunderstorm likely to hit in the state in the coming five days, the center meteorological department said. The heavy storm will be formed in Andaman Nicobar Sea, reports said.

Indian Army honors fighters on Covid Battlefield. In honor of health workers, the Air Force flew planes over hospitals that provide treatment for Covid patients. Indian Army showers flowers over medical workers in various places in the country.
At 10 am, the three army chiefs started the event by presenting a wreath at the Delhi Police Memorial. In Delhi, Sukhoi 30 aircraft and MiG-29s flew flyposts at Rajpath and flourished from India Gate to Red Fort. The flypast is at Dal Lake in Srinagar and Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh.
The flypast took place on Marine Drive in Mumbai. The flowering of the Air Force took place at 10.30 am in Itanagar, Guwahati, Shillong, and Kolkata.
Five ships of the Mumbai Gateway of India illuminated from 7.30 pm to 11.59 pm. The ships also display a poster titled ‘India bowing down Corona fighters’. In addition to lighting the ships, the Goa Naval Base will also build a human chain to honor the Corona fighters.
Indian Army pays tribute to police officers who have been at the forefront of Covid’s defense Brigadier Karthik Seshadri, Commander of the Pangode Military Station, presented the cake to State Police Chief Loknath Behra at a function held at the Thiruvananthapuram Police Headquarters. The army also handed over gloves, masks, and children’s greeting cards to the police.
Brigadier Karthik Seshadri said that police work is highly valued by health workers, sanitation workers, and various government agencies who are at the forefront of the fight against Covid. He also praised the role of the police force in combating the virus and implementing lockdown. State Police Chief Loknath Behra congratulated the Army for its initiative to honor the police throughout the country.

New Delhi: Lokpal member Justice A. K. Tripathi died of coronavirus. He was sixty-two years old. He died at the AIIMS Trauma Center in New Delhi on Saturday night.
Tripathi was admitted to the AIIMS in Delhi on April 2 following an illness. Justice Tripathi’s daughter and housemaid were also affected by the corona, but they recovered.
However, Tripathi has been in the ICU and ventilator for the past three days due to deteriorating health, reports PTI.
He was a former Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court and was mainly associated with the Patna High Court. Tripathi was one of the four judicial members of the anti-corruption Ombudsman Lokpal.
