Kochi: Suspicion in gold smuggling case increases. According to reports ten judicial officers, including an NIA court judge hearing the case recently transferred. NIA court judge P Krishnakumar has been appointed as the Kollam district judge.

But the Pala Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Judge K.S. Kamanis has been appointed as an NIA court judge. From next week, the new judge will hear cases involving gold smuggling. Meanwhile, the main accused in the gold smuggling case, except Swapna, has applied for bail in an NIA court.

Thiruvananthapuram: The house of Bineesh Kodiyeri, the accused in the financial deal in the Bangalore drug case, is being raided in Thiruvananthapuram. The ED is accompanied by the Karnataka Police and the CRPF. The eight-member team of the ED had reached Thiruvananthapuram yesterday.

Enforcement team officials and Income Tax officials are staying in Thiruvananthapuram as part of intensifying the investigation in the case against Bineesh Kodiyeri. The purpose of the investigation team is to gather direct evidence regarding Bineesh’s Benami transactions and asset information. There is a move to question Abdul Latif, who is believed to be Bineesh’s benefactor, and to inspect his institutions. The ED concluded that Bineesh had invested heavily in various companies with Abdul Latif.

The ED has found that more than Rs 5 crore was handed over to Anoop Mohammad, the accused in the drug case, between 2012 and 2019. As part of this, centers related to Bineesh are being brought under investigation.

Thiruvananthapuram: State Youth Welfare Board Vice Chairman P.Biju (43) passed away. He died on Wednesday following a heart attack at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College at 8.15 am.

Kidney Infections due to COVID went severe diabetes also worsened the condition. He later died of a heart attack this morning. Biju was a member of the CPM Thiruvananthapuram District Committee. 

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has warned of isolated heavy rains. Subsequently, a yellow alert was declared in Idukki and Palakkad districts. Heavy rains are forecast to continue till November 6. In this context, a yellow alert has been issued in Wayanad tomorrow (05-11-2020) and in Idukki on the 6th.

Warning issued for thunderstorms between 2 pm and 10 pm. Sometimes it is late at night and it is reported that it may continue. Lightning is likely to be active in hilly areas.
