Amravati: At least 14 people were killed when a bus collided with a truck on National Highway 44 in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Four people were seriously injured. The accident took place near Madarpur village in Veldurthy constituency of Kurnool district in the state. All the injured were admitted to the Government General Hospital.
The victims were from Madanapalle in Chittoor district, police said. They were on a pilgrimage to Ajmer in Rajasthan. The minivan they were traveling in overtook a road divider and crashed into an oncoming truck. The accident happened between 3 and 3.30 in the morning. The dead included a child and eight women. Four people, including two children, were seriously injured.
Bangalore: Young environmental activist Disha Ravi has been arrested in the Greta toolkit case. It is alleged that the tool kit was edited and circulated. 21-year-old Disha Ravi is one of the founders of the Friday for Future Campaign. The case was registered on charges including treason. Disha is the first arrestee in the case.

Chamoli: The death toll from an avalanche in Uttarakhand has risen to 40. Two more bodies were recovered. 164 people are yet to be found. The Muslim League demanded that the Malappuram parliamentary constituency elections be held along with the assembly elections. The Election Commission replied that the matter could be considered.

Chandigarh: Five people were killed in a shooting at a wrestling training center in Chandigarh. Including the owner of the training center was killed. Two people were injured in the attack. The incident took place yesterday evening in Rohtak, Haryana.
The deceased have been identified as Manoj, his wife Sakshi, Satish, Pradeep, and Pooja. The shooting took place at a wrestling center near a private school in Rohtak. Police believe the attack was premeditated.

New Delhi: The Central government has beefed up security at the home and office of National Security Adviser Ajit Doval following the terror threat. The move follows the arrest of Hidayatullah Malik, a suspected Jaish-e-Muhammad militant. Details have been handed over to the Union Home Ministry and security agencies.
It is alleged that Jaish-e-Muhammad had leaked information that the Sardar Patel Bhavan and other high-ranking centers in the national capital were targeting Ajit Doval on instructions from Pakistan. Ajit Doval has been a key target of Pakistani terrorist organizations since the 2016 Uri attacks and the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.
Following Malik’s arrest on February 6, investigators questioned some people in connection with the case. Two residents of Shopian, Hidayatullah Malik’s wife, a college student from Chandigarh, and a Bihar native were questioned.
Malik, a native of Shopian, was arrested with weapons and ammunition. A vehicle was also seized during the arrest. A case has been registered at the Gangyal police station after Malik, the leader of the Jaish Front group Lashkar-e-Mustafa, was arrested in Anantnag.
New Delhi: Those who received the first dose on the first day of the Covid vaccine distribution will be given the second dose on Saturday. Those receiving the first dose should receive the second dose after 28 days. The nationwide distribution of the vaccine began on January 16th.
As of Friday, more than 77 lakh health workers and Covid Front fighters in the country had received their first dose of the vaccine. Sivakasi: Another blast at a fireworks factory in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu. The blast took place at the KR fireworks Factory in Sivakasi. Nine people were injured in the accident and the building collapsed.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital. Firefighters and police on the scene. About 70 people were reported to be working here.
At least 19 people have been killed in the blast hospital yesterday. They were admitted to hospitals in Sattur and Sivakasi.
Lucknow: Enforcement Directorate has filed the charge sheet against five including Malayalee Journalist Siddique Kappan in a money laundering case. In addition to Siddique, the Popular Front, and the student body, the Campus Front workers were are the other accused in the case.
The charge sheet alleged that the accused made an illegal money deal for anti-national works. The charge sheet was submitted before the court considering financial frauds in Lucknow.
Siddiq Kappan was arrested by the UP police while traveling to report the rape and murder case in Hathras.
