New M3 voting machines will be used for the state assembly elections this time

0

Thiruvananthapuram: The Election Commission has said that new technology M3 voting machines will be used in this Assembly election. The use of the M3 will ensure greater accuracy and transparency in polling than the M2 machines used so far. The M3 machine can add the names of 384 candidates at the same time, including NOTA. The M2 could only include the names of 64 candidates.

Another feature of the M3 machine is that it can detect mechanical faults on its own. This will allow them to quickly locate faulty EVM machines. By displaying the battery level on the mission, the Presiding Officer will be able to know the charging level and troubleshoot quickly.

On the M3 machines, the battery compartment and the candidate set compartment are specially adjusted. Therefore, in the event of a battery failure, the battery can be replaced by replacing the battery without completely disassembling the machine. This will reduce the time loss in booths. M3 machines are lightweight and easy to handle. This is the first time in Kerala that M3 machines are used.
