The High Court stayed the orders regularising the temporary employees

Kochi: The High Court has stayed the orders regularising the temporary employees. The court sought an explanation from the government in the case. An explanation must be given by April 8th.

The order was passed by Justice Devan Ramachandran on a petition filed by some PSC rank-and-file candidates, alleging that the stabilization of temporary employees was against the Supreme Court order.

Stabilizations have been made at Kila, Keltron, Eeta Workers Welfare Board, C-DIT, Forest Industries Travancore Limited, Literacy Mission, Youth Commission, Bureau of Industrial Promotion, LBS, Women’s Commission, and School Kerala.

The Division Bench of the High Court had held that the order of the Supreme Court that the stabilization of temporary persons was illegal was a law of the land and no action should be taken against it.

At the same time, the government explained that the temporary employees were made permanent only in the posts which were not left to the PSC, and no action was taken in violation of the rules. The government told the court that the appointments were made under the Special Rule. The court has asked the government to produce details of the special rule.

The Election Commission has directed that the criteria for submission of nomination papers should be met. Only two candidates will be allowed to submit their nomination papers. Two vehicles can be used. If the rally arrives, only five vehicles will be allowed within the specified distance. The application can also be submitted online. A copy of this can be given to the selector. The deposit can also be paid online.

Accident in Agra; Nine died

Agra: Nine people were killed when a Scorpio car collided with a truck on the Agra-Kanpur National Highway. Three people were injured.

The accident took place in the Emadpur area of Agra yesterday morning. The driver of the Scorpio fell asleep and caused the accident. The Scorpio collided with a container truck lined up from Agra as it crossed the median and entered the oncoming vehicle line.

There were 12 people in Scorpio. The bodies of those who died in the accident were sent for post-mortem. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
Agra SSP Bablu Kumar said the vehicle was a Jharkhand registered vehicle.

Covid: E-pass mandatory for bus passengers

With this, the livelihood of thousands of workers who go to work in Tamil Nadu every day is in crisis. Hundreds of workers who went on the bus without a pass yesterday were detained at the border and sent back.
Officials say an e-pass is mandatory for everyone to enter Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu officials say that those who are not will not be trafficked to Tamil Nadu for any reason. Tamil Nadu buses have also been directed not to carry passengers from Kerala who does not take the e-pass. According to the authorities, the e-pass has been made mandatory due to the spread of Covid in Kerala.

Relief to train passengers: Passengers can travel on season tickets from next week

Kochi: Railways is restoring the season ticket which was suspended due to the expansion of Covid. Season tickets will be issued on Guruvayur-Punalur Express and MEMU trains. Season tickets will be issued on Punalur-Guruvayur Express from 17 onwards. All but the AC coach and the two-second sitting coach will be made unreserved coaches. Season tickets will be issued when Memu trains start running from 15 onwards.

The lockdown began on March 24, 2020. The Railways will consider the remaining 20 days of season tickets for those months with retrospective effect. All trains currently running in Kerala can only be booked with a reservation ticket.

Notice to Government and CBI on Life Mission Case

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Central and state governments and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on a petition filed by Unitac MD Santosh Eepan against the CBI probe into the Life Mission case. The court has also sent a notice to Anil Akkara MLA.

Earlier, the state government had also approached the Supreme Court against the High Court order for a CBI probe. The Supreme Court has decided to consider the petition of Santosh Eepan along with this petition. The state government had approached the court against the CBI probe and informed the apex court that the central agencies were violating the limits in the name of the probe. The government claimed that Life Mission was implementing a scheme to provide housing to the poor. However, the CBI replied that the vigilance probe was evidence of irregularities in the scheme.

New Delhi: SpiceJet has launched low-cost RT-PCR testing through SpiceJet. The company offers RT-PCR tests for Rs 500.
The corona test is offered to the general public in Mumbai and Delhi at low rates. The inspection will be done after collecting the swab directly in the houses. Also, customers can book through the website www.spicehealth.com. Bookers will be screened at the Spice Health Mobile Lab. This facility is also available for SpiceJet passengers.

Covid to more than 400 people in 24 hours in Delhi; Center with warning

New Delhi: Covid-19 confirmed 409 more people in 24 hours in Delhi. This is the highest daily figure for two months. Following this, the Center issued a warning.

Earlier on January 8, there were 400 daily Covid cases in Delhi. Covid was 444 at the time. Three more were killed.
Covid confirmed 642,439 people in Delhi. 10,934 people died. Health experts say failure to take precautions has led to a sharp rise in the disease.

Heavy rain Likely in the state; Yellow alert in four districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The Met Office has warned of heavy rains in four districts of the state. Yellow alert issued in Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts. Isolated showers of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm are forecast in 24 hours. It has been raining in many parts of the state in the last few days. As the summer rains subside, the temperature rises. It may also lead to severe drinking water shortages.

Covid cases on the rise; One-week lockdown in Nagpur, Curfew in Mumbai

Nagpur: A lockdown has been announced in Nagpur amid rising Covid cases in Maharashtra. Authorities announced a week-long shutdown from March 15 to 21.

In Nagpur alone, 1710 people were newly diagnosed with the virus yesterday. This is the first time in 173 days that the number of cases has increased. Authorities said they would not allow anything other than the required services. Covid cases are more common in women and people between the ages of 21 and 40.

Amidst a spurt in COVID-19 cases, the Maharashtra government has imposed a night curfew in two more districts – Kalyan-Dombivli and Nandurbar – in the state. The authorities decided after Kalyan-Dombivli recorded 392 new coronavirus positive cases on Tuesday.

While issuing the order, the Kalyan-Dombivli district administration said that the Shiva temple in the area will not be open for devotees on the occasion of Shivratri on March 11.

As per the order issued by Kalyan-Dombivli municipal commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, shops will be permitted to remain open for five days from 7 am till 7 pm from Thursday onwards. Shops will be allowed to operate on an alternate day basis on Saturday and Sunday.

The wedding ceremonies will take place between 7 am and 9 pm.
During the night curfew, no customers will be served at bars and restaurants after 11 pm.
Emergency services and medical stores will be exempted from the restrictions.
