Ten-fold covid test in extreme areas; Guidelines updated

Thiruvananthapuram: State Health Minister Veena George said the test guidelines have been revised based on TPR in Local Self Areas. The Covid tests will be increased based on the covid cases in the local self area.

The tests are performed on an average of one week. If one-week TPR is above 30 percent, the number of cases in the last three days is ten times higher. In other words, if there are 100 cases in 3 consecutive days, 3000 triples of 300 tests will be performed daily. The minister also said that the test will change as it decreases.

If one-week TPR is in between 20 and 30 percent of the cases will be examined six times in the last three days. If one-week TPR is in between 20 and 20 percent of cases will be tripled in the last three days. Antigen, RTPCR, and other tests are performed on all three groups.

The District Surveillance Unit will analyze the situation in the Municipality, Corporation, and Panchayat / Ward and determine the target for inspection.

Institutions, industrial establishments, factories, institutions, and specific areas that require further monitoring may be instructed to monitor nearby health facilities. Mobile testing labs can also be used if required.

Guidelines for Private Bus Service in the State: Single and Double-Digit Numbers will take Service on alternate days

Thiruvananthapuram: As a guideline regarding the operation of private bus service in the state. Buses can be operated on alternate days according to single and double-digit numbers. Tomorrow (Friday) one-way buses will run.

Double-digit number buses will be available on Mondays (21–06-21) and Wednesdays and Fridays.
The number one buses will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays next week and Mondays (28–06-21). Bus service is not permitted on Saturdays and Sundays.

Delta Plus variant: Covid third wave could hit in Maharashtra

New Delhi: Covid third wave could hit Maharashtra in the next two to four weeks, reports. The warning was issued by the state Covid mission. The third wave is less likely to affect children. But low-income earners are more likely to be affected, the warning said.

A review meeting was convened on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to prepare for the third wave of Covid. It was at this meeting that the mission team shared their observations. In addition to the members of the mission, the state health minister and senior officials also attended the meeting.

The mission estimates that the number of Covid patients in the third wave will double compared to the second wave. In the first wave, 19 lakh cases were reported. In the second wave, 40 lakh cases were reported. There are currently 1.4 lakh active cases. It may reach eight lakhs. The task force estimates that 10% of cases in the third wave, similar to the first two waves, may be reported from children or young people.

No evidence that Kappan tried to disrupt the peace in Hathras: the court quashed the charges

Lucknow: A court has ruled that there is no evidence that Malayalee journalist Siddique Kappan tried to disrupt peace in Hathras. The Madurai court also quashed the charges against Ateek Rahman, Alam, and Masood, who were arrested along with Kappan.

However, the sedition charges against Kappan have not been dismissed by the UAPA. But the Madurai court has now acquitted the department which had taken Kappan into custody. The court will consider Kappan’s bail application on the 22nd.

On October 5, 2020, Uttar Pradesh police arrested Siddique Kappan and others on charges of disrupting peace in Hathras. Subsequently, departments including UAPA were imposed. Kappan has been in jail for eight months.

Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode Janashatabdi, Thiruvananthapuram-Kannur Janashatabdi, Ernakulam-Kannur Intercity, Mangalore-Nagercoil Ernad, Thiruvananthapuram-Shornur Venad, Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram Vanchinad, Alappuzha-Kannur Executive, Punalur-Guruvayur Express, Guruvayur-Thiruvananthapuram Intercity, Thiruvananthapuram-06 (07) / 48) Express, Tirunelveli-Palakkad Palaruvi, Ernakulam-Karaikal Express, Ernakulam-Bangalore Intercity, Kochuveli-Mysore Express, and Chennai Egmore-Guruvayur will be resumed.

Reservations are mandatory on all trains. Meanwhile, the unlock process will start in Kerala from midnight today. Restrictions will continue, however. Restrictions will be based on the TPR rate.
